No One Narrates Sarcasm like Scott Brick!

This is the second novella I’ve listened to and I must admit they are growing on me. I’ll listen to just about anything Scott Brick narrates but when he is combined with John Corey and Nelson DeMille, it is the perfect trifecta.

Great Novel Writer, but this is too short a story.

DeMille writes great novels more than 90 per cent of the time. This short story does not give this author time to really develop his characters and doesn't permit the reader to fully enjoy the talents of Nelson DeMille as a novelist.

John Cory tease

What made the experience of listening to The Book Case the most enjoyable?

This was nice short story. The bad guys were predictable but it was good to see Cory in action because it's been a while. Retrospectives on his police career are also nice. Scott Brick is one of the finest narrators in the trade and it makes the book that more enjoyable because of his narration.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I don't think one has the right to tinker with an author's work. Take it or leave it as it is.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and I always enjoy him. One of the best in the business.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. But a chuckle every now and then.

Short but Sweet

To me, no one else writes quite like Nelson DeMille. His characters are truly lifelike and identifiable, either by their strengths or weaknesses. John Corey is always someone you would like to know, unless you're the bad guy. As they are trying to play him they are always playing right into his hands. And, sadly, no matter how long his stories are they always end too soon. In this case the story was well done and complete long before you've had your proper DeMille fill. You can never get enough.

His written books are outstanding, but with all of his audiobooks you get the always excellent Scott Brick. It's like Mr. DeMille writes for his books and stories to be read specifically by Mr. Brick. First, the writing is excellent then the delivery, I feel, is exactly the way the author intended. I can't picture a better combination than DeMille and Brick.

Brief story but entertaining for one afternoon

John Cory methodically works through the case using intelligence deceptions and candor to extract in a confessions from all three suspects
