Publisher's summary

Suffer the Children presents a terrifying tale of apocalyptic fiction, as listeners are introduced to Herod's Syndrome, a devastating illness that suddenly and swiftly kills all young children across the globe. Soon, they return from the grave, and ask for blood. And with blood, they stop being dead. They continue to remain the children they once were, but only for a short time, as they need more blood to live. The average human body holds 10 pints of blood, so the inevitable question for parents everywhere becomes: How far would you go to bring your child back?

zombie vampire children

I have been looking for a good apocalyptic author and always come up disappointed. Craig Dilouie completely knocked it out of the park for me. he's officially my go-to author right now. don't miss his writing!

Very Interesting

I loved this. This was Pet Semetery meets Salem's Lot meets I am Legend. How far will you go to keep your children alive?

Very gripping story

I got into this book because of TikTok and was skeptical because sometimes the internet hype can be a little… much. This was a really good read. Not traumatizing, or super scary… just really bleak and thrilling. I highly recommend this book if you want a feel bad book.

Excellent. Where’s the sequel?

First, I want to say to the reviewer who didn’t know what Muse-zak is. You hear it every single day ….. in elevators, grocery stores, walmart. Its the canned music that plays in the background. He pronounced it correctly.

I loved this story. Definitely a gut punch! If you like a story that is possible(?),good characters, and the worst horror of all, human nature when pushed to the limits, then this book is for you.

I like most of Dilouie’s stuff. I love it even better because RC Bray narrated it. He is one of my favorite narrators. He puts emotion where it belongs. Male and female voices are believable. Mr. Bray would most definitely make any book better. I’ve not finished books because of horrible narrators.

Anyway. Great listen. Would love a sequel. It went by too fast because I couldn’t stop listening!

Dystopia fueled by love

Intriguing look on how far parents will go to care for the children, and what they are willing to do.

Very Original

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes...because with the right producer and director this would be a great horror movie....

Who was your favorite character and why?

Doug... actually reminded me of the character in mountain man a little...maybe it was just because of Bray narrating...

What about R. C. Bray’s performance did you like?

He's the best in the biz, in my opinion.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

laugh a little but mostly cringe?

Any additional comments?

I never really had a WOW moment, but the originality of the idea made up for that. If Bray wasn't narrating it might have just been ok.

Great but very disturbing

I hate that I love this very disturbing novel, but that is the measure of a great author. It haunted me. Damn good book indeed!
