Publisher's summary

Rachel has always been a good girl--until her 30th birthday, when her best friend Darcy throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiancé Dex. Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for Dex. She prays for fate to intervene, but when she makes a choice she discovers that the lines between right and wrong are blurry, endings aren't always neat, and you have to risk all to win true happiness.

Why is it the abridged version??

I’ve read the novel & am curious as to why the decision was made for an abridged audio book?

I guess I am a EG fan...

First the narrator grated on my nerves. I didn't think I would ever get through this book. The storyline was good. But written to what seems a younger audience. Even though...well, my mother wouldn't have let me read it. Maybe EG was trying to speak to everyone but that narrator was almost too much to take. I KNOW Darcy is SUPPOSE to be LOUD even so..
I have purchased all of the Giffen books on Audible. Something Blue redeems Darcy but that was a tough listen also. Re: this book I actually thought the movie was better and I never say that. I love books and they cannot all be bright gems but this one is still in the treasure chest....

I loved the movie.

I saw the movie before reading/listening to the book. The reader gives life to the book and the author depth to the story. A good read.

Loved It

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. A friend actually recommended it to me. I liked it better than Something Borrowed. I laughed and even cried through the book. Darcy's arrogance and outlook on life was entertaining not to mention funny.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Something Borrowed?

When Ethan and Darcey finally confessed they loved each other when walking the twins in the park.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Wiltsie???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Once before with Something Borrowed. I loved the movie.

Who was the most memorable character of Something Borrowed and why?

Darcey. So arrogant that you love her for it.

Exceptional book

Loved the story. Can't say enough about Emily Giffin's books. The performance of the audible book was also fantastic.

Love Love Love

I saw the film adaptation when it came out and have seen it several times since. The book is better. I love the storyline, the people and how relatable the friendship between Darcy and Rachel is. I think we’ve all had a Darcy and we’ve all been a Rachel. It ended perfectly and I can’t wait to start the next one.

Love or Friensdship?

like it a lot! I can't wait to hear Something Blue, which I already bought. It is not some situation everybody would like, cause it's too much complex, but it happens.

Something Borrowed

I enjoyed this book and it did keep my attention, I got through it very quickly. The narrator was good and the story line very believable. Even though all the people in the book were very believable as real life they all seemed to annoy me. I found that I only liked about three people in the book and none of them were main players. Normally you relate most with the narrator telling the story but this time I could not relate well with any of them. This was still a good book and I will be getting more Emily Giffin books, I enjoy her writing style and story even if all the main people drove me crazy in this book.

Something Better...

I liked the narrator and the story was good but it just didn't sit well with me. The story is very hard to believe and I hated Dex. He was scumb and trying to make it all work in the end left me feeling kind of sick. I was expecting something better. (I gave it 3 stars because the narrator is so good.)

loved it!

I think I loved the book better than the movie. The book gave me the filler that I needed. The narrator did an excellent job! I was totally engulfed in the story.
