When Veronique Girard was five, her father left Paris for America to amass a fortune and send for his family. After 25 long years, a death-bed promise brings Veronique to 1870's Colorado to find her father, said to be mining nearby. But when she asks a local freighter to take her on his mining camp deliveries, surprising events unfold.

Wonderful story in every way. I couldn't wait to listen to it every day. Narrator was excellent and used many different accents. Will get more of this author.
Loved how this story brought closure to all books and characters in this series. I loved how God was in control the whole time. Nothing happens by chance. Our loving Father is guiding us.
The whole book kept me glued to the story
The fact that Jack was so patient with Veronique.
Barbara is so adaptive to each character, you know who is speaking.
Yes, many times I had to laugh out loud, there are some hilarious scenes
When I finished it I had to turn right around and listen to it a second time. I enjoyed it as much as I did when I first heard it.
Good story without the usual bad language. Interesting characters and easy to listen to & follow even when doing something else at the same time. The only negative was the narrator. Although she reads with many different voices, her natural voice was distracting for me.
