For her own safety, modern day, single mom, Lizzy McAllister is forced to bow to the medieval men who surround her when she's thrust back in time to the 16th century against her will. When Lizzy finds herself trapped in time with Fin, the one man she finds both irresistible and maddening, she agrees to combine forces with him to rid Scotland of the evil witch, Grainna.
Finlay MacCoinnich's attraction to Lizzy sizzles the very air they breathe. Tearing down the solid walls the woman has built around her won't be easy, but he's willing to do anything to keep her by his side. When a spell cast by their deadliest foe throws them forward in time, will they manage to find their way back in time to save their family from peril? And will Lizzy willingly stay in his time, or abandon him altogether?

This is book 3 in a series. Audible isn't showing the series properly and book 4 came out first and confused many buyers which is a shame as I'm sure that affected the love of these stories to unexpectedly plop late into the series, so the books come in this order.
#1 Binding Vows
#2 Silent Vows
#3 Redeeming Vows
#4 Highland Shifter
#5 Highland Protector (not out in Audiobook yet)
This is a GREAT series, funny, serious, lots of twists and turns, and parts will make you cry. Love the books. AND the narration by David Monteath is PERFECT and frankly that alone is worth the listen. It's great to hear a Scottish man read for the male characters for a change as it really adds to those characters in an addictive sexy way. He's now one of my favorite "readers" (and I've heard many).
The books blend time travel, history, battles, humor, suspense, magick and romance (and some sex) in just the right blend. Each book picks up pretty much where the previous book leaves off and you'll want to go through the next all as soon as each one. It's more a tale of all these great characters, so it's a great family tale not just a romance based on "where can we insert plenty of sex scenes".
While some argue there's enough explanation in each to have them stand alone, since characters' histories and actions span multiple books, do yourself a favor and read them in order!!
Love these books, hope this series continues on and on....
I liked the story line I like the characters and it's always good to have a story come to a satisfying end as this one did. It wrapped up well wasn't rushed wasn't dropped off leaving you wondering. That's hard to find these days. Although the story will continue you are not left feeling ripped off by not getting a complete story line. You can go on to the next book or not it doesn't effect how you relate to the story line you just finished. But I will go on to the next book because I like CB's writing style and was happy with the continuity of her works she pays attention to what is going on in both future and past and how the two timelines are related to the characters and story. We are given the first chapter or so of the next book and who of the family we know is involved for it. I will read that next.
The only issue I have with the audio version is the narrator who does the male voices very well i so could not embrace his female voices! What's worse waa female WITH an American accent. It is awful. His female voices are really, well, ugly and harsh to the ear. I may read the print of the next in series instead of listen.
