Absolutely! Francine Rivers does an excellent job retelling the story of God's relentless love as found in the book of Hosea.
Angel/Sarah. Angel has such depth of character and Rivers does a great job of showing the effects of our environment in fashioning who we are.
It is a BEAUTIFUL story that touches your heart in so many different ways.
Angel/Amanda/Sarah - Although not all of us have been prostitutes, we have all prostituted ourselves to something and I could relate with her defiance and stubborness. God truly allures us with His love.
I absolutely loved when Angel took on Duke and God saved her out of that situation. I was so excited!!
This is a truly amazing LOVE story of a man and a woman and God and I can't recommend it enough.
Have'nt read the print version but I think the audio edition would be better for me.
This book is over the top, The absolute best. It really makes you think about Gods love for you. I can't say enough about this book. Fantastic!!!!! Francine Rivers books are the best. The Mark of the Lion series is really good also.
It was actually my first audiobook, so I guess it ranked as number one!
Michael for his faith
When Paul finally saw Angel for who God made her to be!
Again Michael for his steadfast devotion and love of God
By far it was the best that I have heard.
Angel was my favorite character because I could so relate to her on certain levels concerning love. She was so innocent and yet so marred by her life that it was no wonder that Micheal fell in love with her.
no I haven't.
not possible because it is so long but if I had the time to spare I most certainly would listen to it all at once.
Kate Forbes did a fantastic job of narrating this book. Her inflections and tone were superb and the dramatic reading was excellent.
The narration took some time to get used to, the country drawl of the narrator was annoying. The pace of the book was very slow. The subject matter was disturbing at times, despite the ultimate redemptive theme.
I really enjoy good Christian fiction and enjoyed reading one based on an Old Testament book.
The ending was long in coming.
My favorite scene would be the one where Angel stands on stage and faces down all the lusty men and a complete stranger comes to her aid.
Angel was the most memorable because of her inability to accept love.
The book could have been a few predictable exploits shorter.
The book was well written and the performance was strong. I choose this on the suggestion of a family member because of a personal connection, else I would never select a story, however compelling, that has the narrative feel of a Lifetime movie.
The end was a tad too preachy for me (pun intended), but otherwise a good listen.
Told the story without getting in the way. No forced characters - particularly of the opposite sex.
The book was plenty enough. Nothing personal, but I prefer other genres.
I like the fact that the male characters in this "chick book" were not all evil as so many are. Perhaps it's just in keeping with the allegory, but it's refreshing nevertheless.
Swept Away By Romance
No review I could ever do, would give this book the justice it is so deserving of! You have to experience it to understand all the meaning that it holds. It's an amazing journey I will NEVER forget!
Three words to describe this book....uplifting, frustrating (at times), sad. This was a good book...I like any of Francine Rivers books that I have read and this one is another one that I enjoyed
I couldn't believe how much patience Hosea had...more than I would.
I liked Kate Forbes but I thought her men's voices sounded so unemotional. All in all she did a good job.
This book actually made me cry, but all of Francine Rivers books make me cry!
