Audible and audiobooks save my sanity during a very busy crazy life. There is no better stress relief than a new book.
I would absolutely recommend this book. I wasn't sure I would like it but once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. The story takes you on a long detailed journey of strength, courage and finding a way to overcome all of your trials. The wonderful love story will touch your heart.
Soothing, attentive and driven
Having read this book about 15 years ago, I was tickled to come across it again. An incredible story, with an incredible narrator. Take the time to read this it will be worth the investment.
Yes. I read the book years ago and count it as one of my favorites. Francine Rivers touches on some tragic topics and reveals so many elements of the human condition. It's a story with so much depth that you will remember it long after its end. I know the characters have been well-developed when they make me want to scream at them or cry over their sorrows. Rivers has accomplished that without doubt.
No, because when I find a really compelling book, I like to savor it. But, it was that good that I did listen to it hours at a time.
I would listen again. This is an amazing story.
Very well done.
This story touched the core of me. I want to love others better, receive love from others more easily, and rest in Gods love always. Who would have thought a story book would evoke such a deep emotional response?
Thank-you Francine Rivers.and Kate Forbes
This is definitely a "girl" book, and its message is uplifting and romantic, but the main character is so silly that I may have to return this one before I finish it.
Francine Rivers is talented. How I loved "A Voice in the Wind!" This one, though, has the same thing happening over and over again. If the main character can't get her head together in the next few pages, I will send this back to Audible and find something that provides a more believable and more interesting protagonist.
She could have painted the main characters as real people. Gee, I don't care how Christian and faithful you are, any sane man would have kicked that silly woman out of the house! Any normal woman (We aren't talking plastic Barbies here ... Even an abused Barbie) wouldn't have given him trouble in the first place!
I love the theme of Christian forgiveness.
Loved the characters hated the villains wanted to see what happened next a real page turner , brilliant!
Lover of books with depth and meaning.
There is no real comparison. This is a romance but it's so much more than that.
Loved to Grace
Redeeming Love is one of the best stories you will ever read. Francine Rivers gets into the hearts of the characters and reveals them within the story.
I have never read the print version, but the audio was amazing, I prefer to listen while I multi task, but this is a book that I could see myself sitting down and absorbing into completely.
I don't have any comparisons, other than it really reminded me of how God intentionally put stories like the one in Hosea in Scripture to remind us of how he continually draws us.
I had not heard one of her narrations before this, her voice was smooth and appealing, very easy to listen to and had the right emotion to convey each element of the story.
The book made my heart ache, I felt such severe compassion for the main character that when interrupted, I could not wait to get back to my book to see how she was doing and what was happening in her life. It gave me a different outlook on the devastation that goes on in our cities and the hurting and broken that need to feel God's love. I have never been more moved by a book before.
It has been about 2 weeks since I finished the book and I can say that I actually miss the characters, at times it was so real that I forgot they were fictional and I miss them as if I was connected. I gave the story a 4 instead of a 5 because the ending was too abrupt, I wanted and needed more details to help settle my thoughts and heartache for this woman and those who loved her.
I'm becoming a huge Francine Rivers fan. She weaves a great tale of Christian love between real people.
Characters and how their lives affected their decisions. Loved learning about each character.
Loved the end!
Tormented soul redeemed
When Angel leaves Michael the second time I felt her torment and was pleading inside for her to change her mind and stay with him.
Angel was the most memorable character. She is a product of her childhood but in the end is not completely defined by the terrible events of her past.
