Nia Simone Bijou is a woman who has it all - and is driven by the desire for more. Born in Trinidad, reared in Los Angeles, living in Atlanta, Nia is a writer, a thinker, and a woman in conflict. She's dealing with two sides of her Gemini self, feeling as if there are two women living inside her, both struggling for domination.
One side of Nia is a logical yet heartbroken person who has never let go of an old pain. The other side is a sensual woman who will not let her rest, desiring intimacy and sexual freedom, demanding pleasure.
In the sweltering heat of July, loneliness, desire, and a struggle with both the sensual self and fantasy inspire Nia to become sexually adventurous, meeting lovers who arouse her in diverse ways, lovers who give her unimaginable experiences, generous lovers who desire to please her as much as she desires to satisfy them. Fantasies spiral out of control, and with her life on the line, Nia discovers that pleasure does not come without pain.
Filled with passion, populated with characters that are sexually uninhibited, Pleasure is an unforgettable journey into a free-spirited world.

"Susan Spain's emotionally nuanced reading successfully translates the book to audio format." (Library Journal)
I really loved this book and hated that it had to end, and the way it ended. I want a sequel. I see that not many people liked the book, but I LOVED it! It's very free and open, not at all real, not in my world.
I love Eric Jerome Dickey's book and this one was not disappointing. Unrealistic maybe, but good reading none the less. One good advice-Get your cold shower ready.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Portions of the story were hot...very. (yes, as in Zane, Noire, Mary B Morrison hot) But parts of the book made you say 'huh?'. I was not sure how some of it was tied into the story so it seemed a little all over the place. The ending was not to my liking. It starts off a page turner but parts of it could have possibly been edited so that it flowed better.
Very pleasurable to read. The sex is a little overwhelming and not very realistic at times but a really good read
Its a very weird part where...no I'm not telling just read the book
All were great!
Hmmmm....I plead the 5th
i enjoyed this book just wasnt use to all the sex. but it was different i listend to the wholebook. very nice.
I was very disappointed in the book it. confuse me in the beginning but I it I've never read a book that talked . specifically about sex 24/7 I just have to be honest I'm really disappointed it's more to a relationship then someone's sexual preference and their sexual acts and scenes and positions. it was good to know that the afternoon a lot about Greensboro North Carolina to where I am from talked about Atlanta and Trinidad. it would have been a better book if this one's not in every single chapter talking about sex sex sex and the positions excetera excetera.
I've owned this book for years and decided to check out the audible. Love it then and love it now. I've always appreciated his talent in tapping into a woman's' voice. I'm in my early thirties and find that I can seriously relate to Nia. She's young, intelligent, uninhibited and owns her sexuality!
