Serge rides again!

Where does Orange Crush rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Have to say this ranks right up there.....wildly humorous, in a dark kind of way. But always politically on point. In the vein of Carl Hiaasen, too!

What did you like best about this story?

Following Serge, of course.

Have you listened to any of George Wilson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Mr Wilson's talent is amazing, makes you want to search out all his work, and listen!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

That's a tough one, not sure....but it would be a great movie!

Hooked on this series of books....for sure

Funny & kept my attention

Slow at first but picked up and kept my attention. Enjoyed book. Very similar to previous books.

it was a struggle at first but got better and really turned out to be great

From my perspective the humor falls flat

I decided to try a Tom Dorsey novel and Orange Cruse was my selection. It is a satirical novel and was moderately fun to read, but I did not find the humor and satire especially compelling. There are to many excellent novels available for me to listen to more Tom Dorsey books. It's good, but not good enough.

Very funny - for a while.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Great sense of humor, but the jokes got old after a while. I hope the author knows that rich and ruthless Democrats exist in this world, but evidently only Republicans exhibit those qualities in this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Tim Dorsey again?

Not sure. I like his style but about half-way through I couldn't wait for the book to end so I could start something else. (Vision impaired, so it's only audiobooks for me) The reader was excellent.

Surprisingly contemporary

Made me laugh out loud and kept me laughing.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have recommended it to several of my friends. It's hysterically funny and fun. Florida politics have never had a magnifying glass like this one. I have also had to warn some of them that they can't have the kids in the car and some parts are going to embarrass them if someone else hears them listening without context.

What other book might you compare Orange Crush to and why?

Just about every Tim Dorsey book is great. I have read the entire series and loved it. I look forward to being in florida and looking for some of his landmarks. I guess I would go for Cadillac Ranch or Triggerfish Twist next. Start near the beginning of the series.

Which scene was your favorite?

I guess it would have to be the Rolling Stones body guards.

Laugh Laugh Laugh.

Listen to it and enjoy. If your not laughing every minute wait 2 minutes and you will again.

Not the best Serge

Although I love the litany of Florida trivia and views of the slimy political underside of the state, this was more a ho-hum history lesson without any of the absurd Serge antics I love in Dorsey's novels. It was an unmemorable read, other than some of the factoids that really are wonderful.

Wild, crazy and WONDERFUL

I love the Serge A Storms books. Dorsey has a gift for prose, descriptions & hyperbole and gut-truth. Genius.

I Giggle & belly laugh my way through these books.
