I liked the fact that the author was also the narrarator. He's able to add emphasis where someone may not have picked up on the pages.
I have listened to several other narrators and I think Frank Peretti did a fine job. I did find the soundeffects at the begining of each chapter a little distracting.
A wild adventure! I was never bored and it kept me with my muscles tense in a lot of places. I highly recommend for anyone who is a scifi monster fan.
What was hard to get past was the narrarator doing the voice of one of the female characters. It almost made it unbearable but I got past it. The story is just so-so and I am surprised because the Piercing the Darkness, etc. books were so good.
loved this book so much that i cant stop talking about it.the descriptive words allowed me to picture each scene like i was watching a movie that only i could see.
I couldn't get very far into it. Not certain if it is for children or not.
I have already purchased a few of his books. I liked The Oath enough to get more. Hope I will not be disappointed in the rest.
Perhaps a different narrator.
I was shocked to see this was narrated by the author. It didn't sound like a child's book in the description. However, it is read that way. I found it too annoying to get past 2 hours.
The story was not very good
The reader needs to pause when changing scenes.
There are good writers and good story tellers. This writershould not have tried to be both
Listening to Frenk Peretti perform his own work is always a pleasure.
Definitely lots of action and surprises.
I definitely get things out of it I didn't notice when I read the novel. I also get a better feel about how he viewed the characters as he was writing them.
Yes, and probably would have... although an abridged version would have sucked majorly.
Not Perettis best work, but all the science had me wondering... could they do that? And it was a fascinating story, I especially like the fact that whatever you might have thought the explanation for the Sasquatches was going to be... you were wrong XD Still waiting on that third This Present Darkness sequel, lol.
Good story but I was expecting a spiritual allegory. I kept waiting for an analogy to be drawn but it never happened. Interesting and enjoyable story though.
"Harry and the Hendersons!!!"
This was a good listen! The fear factor was really enhanced in an audible version, compared to the written word. Suspicious big foot sightings have been whispered about, folk are being maimed and an evil scientist is up to no good...I wouldn't go down to those woods today!
