Fabulous story, terrible ending. SPOILER!
Excellent story. Excellent narrator. But I think the author missed a really big opportunity here. With such a great storyline focused on a quadriplegic, there was an opportunity to explore an ending where girl and boy meet and fall in love and make it work. As opposed to, say, killing off the main character. Unlike my fellow reviewers, no tears here. but I did enjoy the story up until the end.

If you're looking for a typical happy ending keep looking. This novel is beautifully written and preformed but not your typical boy meets girl romance. It's thought provoking and emotional at times. Very close to the movie in many ways.

Riveting read
This book is beautifully written; capturing real life emotions and experiences throughout. I found it to be thought provoking on how quickly one’s life can dramatically change by an accident or illness or loss of people we love. It left me being reminded to live every day fully and boldly.

One of the best
I felt a deep connection with each of the characters, empathy for each perspective. I believe that Jo Jo is a literary genius who has researched, and likely experienced this caregiver/receiver situation to the nth. I love the way she respected the varied views and shared the insights of those who live this life and want others to benefit from their mutual support. I really felt as if she told the story from the inside out.
