A listener's delight. Thirteen short stories, five never before collected, written between 2007 and 2013. Sexy, sweet, and occasionally strange, these brief but emotionally powerful stories encapsulate everything listeners of Male/Male romance have come to love most about Josh Lanyon's work.

Avid audible listener!
Josh Lanyon portrays "real" people. I always feel like his characters could be a friend or neighbour.
I often forget I am reading/listening to fiction...
I have read many of the stories in this collection, but I enjoyed several of them more this time due to great narration.
This is a collection of maybe a zillion of Mr. Lanyon's short stories. Every one I wish was longer. This author just has an amazing gift for creating MCs that are smart, witty, vulnerable, endearing and any other adjective you can think of. There are different narrators for each story and they were all fantastic; not a bad one in the lot. How is that possible?! Does he have a stable of great narrators on retainer? Mr. Lanyon, please share them with the rest of the audiobook world!! Anyway, as I said, my only complaint was that the stories were not longer and were all HFN endings. Josh Lanyon doesn't believe in HEA; he just leaves you satisfied, but still wanting more.
Science Fiction Reviews
Josh Lanyon is one of the best writers in M/M, but more to the point here, he does the best audiobooks in this genre. I don't see a list of narrators with their stories in this collection, so here it is:
JM Badger: Perfect Day, In a Dark Wood, Other People's Weddings, Critic's Choice
Rob Granniss: A Limited Engagement, Until We Meet Once More, Sort of Stranger Than Fiction
Adam Chase: In Sunshine or in Shadow, In Plain Sight, Just Desserts
Michael Oaks: The French Have a Word For It, Heart Trouble, Slings and Arrows
All of the narrators are really excellent, but I particularly impressed with Michael Oaks, who captures the intensity and determination of some of Josh's younger protagonists.
When I'm not reading MM romances I'm listening to them. Audio books get me through traffic and housework.
Awesome narrators ftw!
A few standout new stories, like In Plain Sight but some were so deliciously good to revisit, like the wedding planner story from the Petit Morts series. All stories were made memorable by the awesome narration. Kudos to Lanyon for handpicking his actors so thoughtfully. Shows real respect for the medium and his fans.
They help add another rich layer to the characters and story. These narrators did a wonderful job at keeping each story unique and conveyed the angst, humour and the atmosphere in each of the fifteen different shorts masterfully.
The stories - i love these stories! I've read and reread them and now i can also listen to them which is lovely.
Plus, the narrators are very, very good. I also liked the fact that the narrators alternate so that each story has a new voice, and I like the short story format - i can fit these stories between daily tasks and it's relaxing and satisfying to hear a story from beginning to end.
One of my favorite characters is Ford from Heart Trouble. This is such a sweet little story and he's such a sweet guy.
Also, Angelo Faust's butler from Critic's Choice. I like how he amuses himself greatly.
Rick from In Sunshine or In Shadow surprised quite a few laughs out of me, it was delightful to listen to the narrator's (Adam Chase, i think) take on this character.
I'm really enjoying this collection of short stories. It really has a story for every mood - funny, sweet, suspenseful, spooky, romantic, mysterious. I love it.
Always a fan of Josh Lanyon, I like this collection of short stories. Perhaps there's a longer book somewhere in there - Sweets for the Sweet?
