Publisher's summary

Internationally best-selling author Francine Rivers—winner of a Christy Award and the ECPA Gold Medallion—crafts a riveting tale of mother/daughter bonds stretching across decades. Strong-willed Marta leaves Switzerland early in the 20th century and settles in California. Totally Enjoyable!!!

An absolutely delightful book. Heard it in just a few days even though it is over 15 hours. The narrator was superb and the characters were unforgettable. I couldn't wait for my next credit so that I could order the sequel, Her Daughter's Dream, which I just started.

If there was anything I felt negative about in this book it was the "tough love" that Marta showed toward her daughter, Hildie. As a mother, I did feel that this was a bit extreme and unrealistic. But this one little thing did not keep me from thoroughly enjoying this book.

Francine Rivers does it again.

If you could sum up Her Mother’s Hope in three words, what would they be?

Love, sorrow, endearment

What was one of the most memorable moments of Her Mother’s Hope?

When Hildy was born.

Which scene was your favorite?

It would have to be when Marta took the Hilda past the house that burned down and told her to not remember the bad but remember only the good memories that came from that home and the people that had previously lived there.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried many times as I felt I was really there while reading it.

Any additional comments?

Francine Rivers has kept true to her writing and has given us another exceptional story. You can not go wrong with any of her books.

Good Listen

I enjoyed this book but i agree with one of the other reviewers who said the mother is really mean. You spend a lot of time just hoping the mother will warm....

5 stars all the way!

What did you love best about Her Mother’s Hope?

There wasn't anything I loved "best," the entire book was increadible, we couldn't put it down!
My husband and I both listened to it together, and it stayed with us for days after we'd finished. It was a source of many conversations. After a few days, we went back and re-listened to different parts and caught things that we'd missed on the 1st go around.
This is a book that we'll definately revisit!!

Relatable

i could relate to much of this. have me more insight as a daughter raised hard and a mother who was motivated by fear but with the love of Christ the ultimate power.

Rivers is always enjoyable

Francine Rivers never disappoints. At times the central mother/daughter relationship was hard to listen to, but obviously realistic and I always enjoy how God is woven throughout the story and always present!
