Publisher's summary

Best-selling author and inspirational speaker Tommy Tenney teams with Mark Andrew Olsen to deliver a mesmerizing tale of historical fiction. Favorably compared to Anita Diamant's The Red Tent for its unexpected plot twists, Hadassah is the fictional account of the Bible's Esther, the Jewish peasant girl who became queen of Persia.

"One night with the King changes everything." This is the message Esther, later known as Queen Hadassah, wrote circa 492 B.C. to one special candidate for new bride to King Xerxes. Now, in present day, another Hadassah, descendant of the bridal candidate, has been given these stories, passed down from generation to generation, of Esther's fateful time in history. It is a tale of persecution and benevolence, death and rebirth, and ultimately, an illustration of faith.

Tommy Tenney painstakingly researched the life of Esther to uncover the riveting details behind this woman's courageous ascent to the throne. Award-winning narrator Suzanne Toren immerses listeners in the captivating world of ancient Persia.

Hadassah

This book is not so much about a beautiful woman but about the love of God for all people. How God can take an orphaned girl and bless her beyond her dreams and save a nation and bless a kingdom. Oh the genius of Gods plan to love and protect- no human could have thought this up or orchestrated it to happen if he had.
Tommy Tenney unveils to us how powerful and awesome God is. Suzanne Torens narration is superb - she speaks with such eloquence and grace. The grace of a queen. Bravo! Bravo!

Loved Loved Loved It

It's a good thing we were on a 2000 mile driving trip, because I couldn't stop listening to this story.

Maybe men just do it better...

I have read many books inspired by Queen Ester's story and found this one; written by a man from a woman's point of view; to be my favorite. Most female authors tend to tell the story the way a woman would tell it, Tenney told the story the way a woman would think it! I often found myself driving with a silly smile pasted on my face because I truly identified with the thoughts and emotions presented. This telling also stayed true to the biblical account and filled in the blanks in a beautiful, yet believable way. Toren's narration was so convincing that I almost expected the Queen to appear in the passenger's seat.

Great book!

This book was fantastic. The reader was a perfect choice for her voice. This was the perfect book to listen to shortly before getting married and I'm now recommending it to all my girlfriends to read. My only regret is that they don't have the sequel on Audible.

Delightful !

What a joy! The book was well written and had the perfect narrator. It was a combination of romance and History. It was a tale I did not want to end. It brought the past and present together nicely.

excellent story

Esther is my favorite Bible story, I've read every version I have found. This version did not disappoint. However while I understand the reason for casting an older woman to do the reading a younger person would have been more pleasant to hear. Suzanne's voice was too gravelly & I did care for her "mans" voice especially when speaking for Xerxes. She made him sound like an old man.
