She was just a girl, standing in front of a boy…wishing he looked more like Hugh Grant. Scarlett loves the movies. But does she love sensible fiancé David just as much? With a big white wedding on the horizon, Scarlett really should have decided by now.… When she has the chance to house-sit in Notting Hill - the setting of one of her favourite movies - Scarlett jumps at the chance. But living life like a movie is trickier than it seems, especially when her new neighbour Sean is so irritating. And so irritatingly handsome, too. Scarlett soon finds herself starring in a romantic comedy of her very own. But who will end up as the leading man?

I’m so glad that I ‘left my comfort zone’ and purchased this Romantic comedy. Usually, I seek out a good thriller, but the title of this book intrigued me, so I thought what the heck I’ll give it a try. I’m thrilled that I did, because From Notting Hill With Love...Actually was such a fun read/listen. If you are a fan of the movies Notting Hill, Love Actually, and Bridget Jones Diary (just to name a few great chick flicks), you will adore Ali McNamara’s debut novel. I also think that Finty Williams is the perfect narrator for McNamara’s book; she brought everyone and everything to life, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Notting Hill. Having said that, I longed for more description of the area – the market, the stores, and some of the other homes in Notting Hill, but this is just me as Notting Hill happens to be my latest obsession.
Overall, I was very impressed with both the author and the narrator so I decided to join this great duo on another adventure – Bon Voyage! I’m off to New York...

Ali McNamara's next book From Notting Hill to New York Actually is just as good as this one.
Cute. Funny. Girly.
Very well narrated and easy to listen to. Brought out the best of the characters.
I bought the sequel, From Notting-hill to New York...Actually and I look forward to it.
Fantastic book to escape into. Found myself trying to guess which movies they were referring to along the way.... even managed to find a couple of movies that I will be adding to my must see list. Loved it
I'm Italian and I listen to audio books to improve my English. this is great fun and is read very well. However, there should be the possibility to choose different speed reading (at least two) to facilitate understanding of the non-native listeners
Great if you love romantic films. An easy and enjoyable listen. Predictable, but then isn't all romantic fiction. :-)
"A nice easy listen. Frothy and frivolous!"
I enjoyed it but not a literary masterpeice! Just amusing and easy to listen to.
Not listened to any before so had no expectations.
Yes, I love her!
I would wait for the DVD.
I did like it and will probably buy the sequel.
I enjoyed the book very much, I thought about my daughter saying every situation has a 'Friends' episode to cover it and that summed the ideas in the book up. I had also seen all the films that are mentioned and found that I was thinking about how life is like the movies!!! Good chick lit.
