Best thing about the book, for me anyway was the narration! S.W. Salzman did a great job with this, and because of the amount of different characters and the fact he made each one sound different, was really impressive. His narration was the only reason I plowed through this book because otherwise it would have been a DNF.
This book was a hard one to rate because while there was a few things I liked, I didn't like the book overall. I found the writing to be very repetitive and I really didn't connect to any of the characters! The main thing I liked about it was how Vampires and Werewolves came about. It was a unique take on the lore, I just wished it was executed a little different. I don't like giving a negative review so all I'll say is, I mightn't have liked it, but give it a go anyway, you may love it :)
*I received a copy of this for review. This in no way affected my thoughts.*
Mike Evans has nailed it out of the park.
I usually listen to books at night before i sleep. i was up for four hours the first night. I couldn't turn it off because I needed to know what was coming next. I loved it.
Norwegian in a English world!
I got this for free, and all I say is my thoughts! I am always honest!
So Mike Evans are a really good author, and I really like his style of writing. This is a fun way to start your relationship with Mike. S. W.Salzman really reads this like a pro! His voice fits the book, and it's a 4 out of the 5 is a high score! Enjoy the book.
I'm a voracious audiobook listener. I'm always looking to discover new and promising authors.
I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in return for an honest review.
The story is an interesting variant from the common storyline. I found it interesting to see the direction it took.
The narrator has an awesome voice but his narration could have served to draw the listener in more completely if it had been less formal and more relaxed. Unfortunately this detracts from the overall presentation. Hopefully that can be improved for book two in the series.
fresh take on the battle between the vampires and lycans, it's awesome how one side is for god!!..in all other takes, both ate both deemed evil, I'm impatiently awaiting the sequel! ..awesome job mike!!
I would have given the book a 5 but really do not like the time period (Kings and Queens). I enjoyed the concept involving the werewolves and vampires, good and evil. The narrator saved the day for me. Really liked the Orphans by Mike Evans. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast dot com. Thank you!
For the most part, I liked the book. There were times were the narrator's sounded like he had something in his throat. It did get a bit repetitive with how the author wrote the conversation parts (Anton said ..., Joseph said ...). This audio book was provided to me for free through Audiobook Blast for my unbiased review.
Vampires were created through a deal with the devil...werewolves through heaven via Gabriel. Well written story. Good battle sequences. A nice twist on the originals if the species. Good narrator. I would look forward to more by both author and narrator. I received this audiobook from the author narrator or the publisher for free via audiobookblast in exchange for an unbiased review
I love this first book. it enjoy the fact that we got a begin to how the wolves and vamps become who they were and why. I great story , Mike Evans hits it out of the park again. Can not wait for book to the ending had me wanting more
