DON’T MISS SEASON 2 OF THE GOLDEN GLOBE AND EMMY AWARD-WINNING HBO® SERIES STARRING REESE WITHERSPOON, NICOLE KIDMAN, SHAILENE WOODLEY, LAURA DERN, ZOË KRAVITZ, AND MERYL STREEP

From the author of Nine Perfect Strangers, Truly Madly Guilty, and The Husband’s Secret comes the number-one New York Times best-selling novel about the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

A murder.... A tragic accident.... Or just parents behaving badly? What’s indisputable is that someone is dead.

Madeline is a force to be reckoned with. She’s funny, biting, and passionate; she remembers everything and forgives no one. Celeste is the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare, but she is paying a price for the illusion of perfection. New to town, single mom Jane is so young that another mother mistakes her for a nanny. She comes with a mysterious past and a sadness beyond her years. These three women are at different crossroads, but they will all wind up in the same shocking place.

Big Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard scandal, and the little lies that can turn lethal.

Critic reviews

“Ms. Moriarty’s long-parched fans have something new to dig into...Big Little Lies [may have] even more staying power than The Husband’s Secret.” (The New York Times)

“Funny and thrilling, page-turning but with emotional depth, Big Little Lies is a terrific follow-up to The Husband’s Secret.” (Booklist, starred review)

“Moriarty demonstrates an excellent talent for exposing the dark, seedy side of the otherwise “perfect” family unit... Highly recommended.” (Library Journal, starred review)

Well written

A true mystery inside an enigma. Woven around a brew of short sightedness , gossip, unfairness, mob think and class discrimination-the lit mirror in the end has a lesson for all. Bravo.

Unbelievably FUNNY!!

What made the experience of listening to Big Little Lies the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed the characters. They were so different, but you became attached to them all the same. I listen to audio books when I run and there were moments in this book where I cried and laughed out loud. People probably think I am Insane!! I also loved the ending. There is a twist that I honestly didn't see coming.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Murder scene

MY FAVORITE FROM LIANE MORIARTY

Really enjoy this book from beginning to end. The characters where well developed, even the ones with small parts. The children are always one of my favorite from Moriarty's novels.

Loved this book and the reader!

Where does Big Little Lies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best. Caroline Lee does a spectacular job narrating this story and making all the characters come alive. She's terrific.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Each character had its own unique part of the story, but I really did like Madeline. Pretty straightforward to the point of annoying, but good-hearted.

Which scene was your favorite?

The night of the Trivia Contest.

If you could take any character from Big Little Lies out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Perry. I'd like to ask him why he was such a total dick.

Simple Becomes Complicated

The narrator, Caroline Lee, brought this book to life for me. It could have been tedious or a little like a reality TV show, but Lee's inflections gave each character their unique personalities and allowed me to forget about their petty, gossipy nature. In addition to excellent character development, Moriarty did a great job of keeping me in suspense as to who was murdered, as well as who the murderer was. I guessed wrong several times.

Wonderful, hilarious, poignant, heartfelt

I loved this story so much that I felt sad when it was finished. It was like I was losing good friends. I try to think if I would have liked it as well if I had read the book. I felt the narrator really brought the book to life. She did a wonderful job of making each character feel real. I will and have suggested this book to others.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK 😉

OMG FANTASTIC FIND!!! I don't understand why this book didn't get a higher rate!! The narrator is FANTASTIC!! She does both male and female voices really WELL and with GREAT inflection!! She has to do so many voices it crazy, and they are all so so DIFFERENT! I've never given all categories five stars. especially the narrating because it's usually always something that gets on my last nerve with the narrator.. Whether it's a female that can't do a males voice which I have found 99% of the time or their voice is so damn ANNOYING that I don't want to or CAN'T continue with the book even if it has good content. This narrator is NOTHING like that.

I feel like I know these ppl! I feel as if I've passed through this small town or at least stayed in a bed and breakfast for a week so I know these shops and where this school and coffee shop is. I wanted to stop in for a cup!

The author did such a great job with each of the main characters letting us get to know each of them..making us love and hate them... making no one perfect.. and not making it easy to pick out who it would be the one to die and how... I wish I wouldn't have seen the series on HBO before I got the story.. but they CHANGED SOOOO MUCH that it was still a great 👍 NEW listen... I mean I LOVEDC just about everything about this book... PLEASE GET THIS
