Publisher's summary

"As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me...."

Memories define us.

So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?

Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight.

And the one person you trust may be telling you only half the story.

Welcome to Christine's life.

Feels like it was done before. Dragged but was still an enjoyable listen with great narration.

Not Bad, Just Claggy

I really like the concept behind this story and I don't even mind that I picked up on the twist within a few pages. Predictable doesn't mean bad, especially for people who like thrillers and are used to figuring things out. The prose is also fairly good, if occasionally a little repetitive, and the narration was perfectly serviceable. All of those things being quite positive, the reason this book receives only three stars from me is it simply wasn't engaging enough to stand up to its interesting premise. The story could be quite slow and clunky and plot threads were often stretched so thin trying to make up for lack of character personality that they snapped. The repetitive scenes are a product of the story but after a while it became a slog and wading through that marsh was just barely worth it.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't predict the end where I read a review of someone who had but I must not be that sharp. Although I did have questions that kept me guessing I didn't try to figure out the end before I was told. Liked the set up and felt it was the right length. Highly recommend

Strange mind bender

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I really liked this story but I got tired of knowing she was waking up again...and again...and couldn't remember herself. It got repetitive as every day the reader had to learn AGAIN how the character was pricing together her life based on the details of yesterday. It moved a little slow for me. An unexpected ending and worth the read (listen).

Would you be willing to try another book from S. J. Watson? Why or why not?

yes.

Any additional comments?

worth the listen...keeps you wondering how she'll get her mind back. The brain does repair itself.

Loved it

Just when you think you know what's going on... you don't! I really enjoyed the clues along the way you're trying to recall as the plot twists and turns. #Gaslighting #UnreliableNarrator #tagsgiving #sweepstakes
