This author proves once again that she can write and tell a story! This book is a very good read, and anyone following the Curtis Black family will marvel at his redemption in the faith community, and how his daughter Alisha marries someone just like her father! Overall, an enjoyable read. At times, I found it hard to put this book down!. Definitely worth the read!
This book is true to life and many can place themselves in between the pages. So, Be Caareful What You Pray For. I will listen again for this is a keeper!
I have enjoyed the Rev. Black books for years and this one put his daughter in the same footsteps we have seen him make. This time her morales are laxed and her new husband is the pain.
Last year, I went to a clearance book convention and picked up three Kimberla Lawson Roby books, two of which were in the Rev. Curtis Black series. I read them both and loved them!
I must say I haven't really read more than one book right after the other in over ten years! I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on Robys' books, she has definitely invited the passion of reading back in to my life.
This book was next in the series so I had to read it! Audible is great and I read(listened to) the book in three days. This was such a page turner I just couldn't put it down! I really enjoy reading about Alicia, but I hate she is in so much drama. However, I enjoyed the book & will be purchasing the next book very soon.
I love reading about Alicia. Kim Roby is my favorite author.
It didn't end the way I imagined but none the less I'm sure the next episode of the Black Family will be just as exciting.
this book was awesome. kept me thinking whats next. I would reccomend this, with no hesitation.
HOW THE WIFE TOLD HER STORY
this a great book. Gives you insight on knowing what a prayer should be,help you understand that all glirter is not gold. The person you are need to always put God first. Love repect what you have. Be real with youself gods love is so real. Realy Realy look at the person you want to marry.
I used to think the Rev. Curtis Black storyline was interesting and had more to offer with each secondary character the authored introduced ... but it's too much to see his son-in-law (Rev. Valentine) doing the same thing.
I've had enough of the trifling preachers and the trampy women who throw themselves at them in this series. I'm tired of them stealing money from the church and flaunting their wealth. Their inner struggle becomes laughable. How many times can you keep saying you want to do "right," but keep doing wrong? We don't believe you anymore. And the showdowns in the sanctuary are played out. How is it that every book in this series has a climactic scene in the church?
I'm glad I know the Lord for myself, because stories like these with only one or two virtuous characters might make me question if there are any Christians in the church at all. Please let ALL the characters in the Rev. Curtis Black series go. They've served their purpose. The author is far too talented of a storyteller to keep getting stuck in this mees. Please move on!
