Different than most

This was not my favorite Francine Rivers book. The story was good a little long - it was interesting with some twists and turns but just wasn’t as good as others ! I’d still recommend it ! I thought the performance was ok maybe a younger person would have been more believable ! It was still a good book!!

Great read/listen

Would you listen to And the Shofar Blew again? Why?

I have read this book before but really enjoyed listening to it even better. The narrators voice was spot on.

What was one of the most memorable moments of And the Shofar Blew?

I appreciated the way conversations were enunciated.

Have you listened to any of Ruth Ann Phimister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first time I heard Ruth Ann Phimister narrate.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it had to be broken up into sections because of the length.

Truth wrapped in fiction

If you could sum up And the Shofar Blew in three words, what would they be?

Forgivingness, sin, adultry, deep generational friendships and marriage. It's all in this book. But the main character is Jesus. Francine is truly an annointed writer.

What three words best describe Ruth Ann Phimister’s voice?

It fits the book, time and characters, just a little slow in spots, maybe that was my IPod

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It all moved me, I felt like I was looking on from a distance into real lives.

Any additional comments?

Listen, you won't be disappointed. The title makes it sound boring, it's not!

Francine Rivers has DONE it AGAIN!!

This book starts out slow, but is worth the read. All the characters are well thought out! I am hooked on Mrs. Rivers style of Christian fiction. It is sexy without being explicit! It keeps you hooked till the end. The ending to this story is not the usual ending for the pastors of today, but it should be. I love the title of this book, and now understand what it means.

Reader

I throughly enjoyed and learned from the story. It is so true to life.
I am sorry to say that I didn’t care for the readers dry mouth sounds and heavy breathing throughout the reading. I had read the book years ago.

What a wonderful book!

This is an excellent book full of raw emotion, realistic characters, love of family, and the eternal struggle of good vs. evil. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
