"The story is a masterful combination of fiction and nonfiction; biblical facts combine with Austin's imagination to create a believable tale that has lessons to offer...in forgiveness, love, faithfulness, and nurturing." (Christian Book Previews.com)
I enjoyed this book. Not only does it tell a great story, but also teaches you lessons about how unforgiveness can ruin you. It would be hard to forgive the things that Joshua forgave, but in the end he was fianlly released from the burned of hatred. No bad language in this book, which I always appreciate.
This book took me on a voyage back in time and thought me many lessons!
I enjoyed the first book (Faith of my fathers), but this sequal is even better. You definitely do not have to be a strong believer to appreciate the story and after reading it, hopefully be able to forgive more easily!
Lynn Austin is now my new favorite author!
Read the series; enjoyed and looked forward to listening to each book ... but, I absolutely loved the 5th book! Highly recommended ... wishing there was another so I could continue on in their lives. I pray God blesses each reader as I was blessed!!
Engrossing, entertaining, enlightening
I have over 600 titles in my library and if I had to give up all but one of the book series in my library, this would be the one I would keep.
When the King's advisor Shebnah, finally realized that even with all his vast knowledge he was nothing without God.
She is awesome with every character she performs. I have a hearing loss, but with her precise diction I didn't have any problems following the story line. I will look for more books that she reads.
There were several moments when I found myself actually worshipping God and praising Him for His deliverance. My favorite moment might have been when Hezekiah forgave his wife for worshiping idols as she humbled herself before God. It was an awesome picture of how God forgives us.
I can't stop talking about this series. It has changed the way I look at what is currently happening in our government. I also find myself drawn to praying for Israel and looking for news reports on what is happening is Israel. It has made me take God and His Word and Promises much more seriously.
Words spoken in season is like a fresh rain.
Yes, Book 3. Loved it because showed Hezekiah at his incredible best.
Miriam, because of her love for her husband; her love for humanity and her wisdom. Amaziah because he learned to find his own voice. Loved him.
Ms. Toren has exceptional ability to impersonate the characters with an outstanding performance.
Jerusha. Loved her because she was a true example of forgiveness.
All five of the books were excellent. I most enjoyed book 3, but all were great. I admit I was sick of Joshua's hatred but the writer weaved all of it together. OUTSTANDING WORK.
