Breathtaking!

It's been a long time since I read anything about the Civil War. I studied it in school back when it was accurately depicted but hadn't given it a lot of thought over the years. This trilogy brought a lot of that forgotten history back to light. How terribly sad. The good news is hate can be overcome with love. That will always be true. Always.

Awesome historical fiction

Such a beautiful story that captures your imagination about that era of history. The author does a great job developing the characters through the 3 book series and entangling their narratives together.

Outstanding!!

Outstanding, the entire series!! I journeyed through the three book series at lightning speed. This was one of the most exhilarating looks at the travesty of slavery coupled with God’s great redemptive power. Excellent!

clean and a great story

The is the first book I have heard from this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean, and I had a hard time putting it down. I will definitely choose another book from the same author.

God’s grace

I liked the way the Gospel is intertwined throughout the story. Forgiveness, love, mercy and compassion are artfully illustrated in the personal stories of the main characters of the book.

A Light to My Path

This was a wonderful book, I listened to it on my I Pod while driving and did not want to get out of car. I study what I call Antebellium History and stories of the salves. I travel all over the south, for weeks at a time, visiting libraries, plantations etc. and it's hard to find really good books on this era, and this was good.
