Available for the first time as an audiobook in this original Outlander novella, Diana Gabaldon reveals what really happened to Roger MacKenzie Wakefield’s parents. Orphaned during World War II, Roger believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But in An Echo in the Bone, Roger discovers that this may not be the whole story. Now, in "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows," readers finally learn the truth.

Did not care for narrator, maybe if Davina Porter had done it, it would have meant something. Boring and just seemed like it had nothing to do with Outlander series. Wasted money, I prefer thinking it happened the way Outlander explained it. Thought it might bridge the gap while waiting for next book to come out, I was wrong.
Love Historical fiction, 1750 -1950, stories from cold/temperate climates, stories from the British Isles, & physical disability fiction.
It's a sad story. I have no need to hear it again. But the details are essential if you are a devoted Outlander follower.
I loved Jerry McKenzie. Any man who can love one woman completely, steals my heart
He did great accents, and was a great smooth reader.
I only listened to part of this book and then I read the rest on my Kindle. While I think the story was fine for an Outlander novella and enjoyed it, the audio quality wasn't that great. I downloaded the book to the app on my phone and it had its issues, there were inconsistencies in the volume, it kept fading in and out. So I finished it on my kindle app and either that was formatted incorrectly or there were some mistakes in the text, whether in the writing or the transcribing, I don't remember them as being characteristic of Gabaldon's writing, but I usually listen and may have missed them.I did enjoy the narrator and overall it was a quick and enjoyable read.
I loved learning a bit more about Roger's parents and how their lives crossed with the Randalls before Claire's jump.

Sad and happy at the same time. Brought to life a small section of her larger story. Good narration.
Ugh, the sad back story of Roger's parents. It neatly wraps up that story line, but I do hope the story will be expanded upon in the next book. It was a woefully short story from Ms. Gabaldon haha.
Read by a male voice with a convincing accent, this is a terrific short read to update Outlander fans on the events around Roger MacKenzie's story. Good entertainment while waiting for Diana Gabaldon to offer up the next installment in the Outlander series
I wanted to find out what really happened to roger's father. It filled in some blanks and I truly love Diana gabaldon's writing style
A mixture of feelings and confusion
When Rogers's dad came home on leave
The hug by the dark haired man
I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I would like a little less stress though
I'm happily married and the mother to three boys ages 12, 9, and 3. Audible comes in very handy, when one does not have much time to read.
Yes, it gives one great insight into what happened to Roger's parents.
Jerry and wee Roger. Jerry has a very colorful vocabulary and truly loves his family.
When Jerry is meets the dark and light mystery men who know about time travel
As if the Gabaldon books aren't riviting and mindblowing enough! Here's just a little extra WOW to make me want to read them ALL again!
Someone who has not read the Outlander series because their expectations would be much lower. The Outlander series is exceptionally good both in the detail of the writing and in the various plots.
Definately. This is the first time I have been disappointed.
Not at all.
Only one main character so without him there would be no book.
Lacked the class, detail and everything I have come to expect from Diana Gabaldon. Actually I find it difficult to believe that she really wrote this.
