Also, there was that strange, annoying feeling that he was being watched.... Humankind was indeed being evaluated, by the highly advanced Khantam Lom, an alien species in control of much of the galaxy.

Awful narration
This book might be good, but unfortunately the narration is so monotonous that you fall asleep all the time. Impossible to tell different characters apart, no difference between tense and less tense passages. Recommended for people with sleeping problems.
