Story
Overall I love the story. Strong female lead that’s not vapid or weak. The family drama issues are getting resolved. I love listening to the main character grow. This slow slow burn romance is also nice in comparison to what I’ve been reading lately. I like to mix it up. Honestly though what made me pick the audible version over written is the narrators voice. This narrators voice is stunning. This husky voice is also perfect for this character in particular. I can imagine a few other books I’ve listened to that would benefit from this narrator. Overall can’t wait to continue the series.

Enjoying the series
I really enjoy it when I come across a good series that’s worth the time it takes to listen to all the episodes. Even though this is a typical fantasy adventure with potential romance, I like the way the family is such a big part of Jacky’s life. I like the action in this series but I am coming to enjoy Jacky’s interaction with her family more and more.
