Publisher's summary

Kaliya Sahni.

Tribunal Executioner. Bounty hunter. The last nagini.

Her reputation is larger than the desert she lives in.

Dangerous. Irresponsible. Antagonistic.

When a friend asks her to look into a supernatural bounty on a human, Kaliya finds herself taking the first steps into a conspiracy that had been in the shadows for nearly a decade. Too intrigued to get out before it’s too late, she dives straight into the deep end, ready to discover the truth.

When the mysterious bounty takes a personal turn, she knows there’s no turning back, no putting the lid back on the box.

It’s all or nothing in her world and Kaliya doesn’t like to lose.

Interesting new series

I enjoyed the start of the Kaliya saga. Strong heroine, engaging storyline and just enough untold questions to make you want more. Unfortunately, the narrator has an extremely sharp “S” pronunciation that rakes likes nails on a blackboard. Sadly, it detracts a LOT from fully immersing into the story. Will try book 2 and hope I can get through it.

Good Book

I like reading paranormal books and this series has a few mysteries to be solve. I am hooked. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the series. Love that the main character has grit and a caring heart. With her being an assassin, the rest of the books should be entertaining..

I love this author.

I absolutely loved the Jacky Leon series and really enjoyed this series as well. I will be on the look out for new books in these series and any new series. I love the Tribunal storyline.

An interesting start to a new series!

I’ve listened to the Jacky Leon series and dove into this one while waiting for more of the other series. Kahlia is definitely an acquired taste, as a person not necessarily as a character (if that makes sense). I’m intrigued by the new side of the Tribunal - seeing the Executioner role and more supernaturals that are less known - being showcased in this book/series. The action, adventure, and creativity I’ve seen with Banet is clear in this book/series and I can just tell that I’m going to enjoy the Khalia Tsuhani (hope I’m spelling that right) series!

I’m so happy this series came to audio!!!

I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Loved meeting Kaliya, Cassius, & Raphael. Also getting another look into the Jacky Leon world. Great start to this series!!!

good story and great story

the story and the narrator/voice actress were great. the story was interesting but kinda awkward at times. the narrator gave every character there own voice to help tell tje characters apart and she was good at accents. hopefully she will narrate the entire series like jakie has her own narrator

Very good

I had a little trouble getting into this book at first but I thoroughly enjoyed it once I did. I have to admit though that I am not a big fan of snakes. This book’s timeline seems to occur right after book one of the Jacky Leon series. There are narrators that are so good that I forget they are performing and reading from a book and then other narrators that seem to be performing the whole time. At first, it seemed as though Ms. Royce was performing but as the reading advanced she became part of the story.

Great story, but narration needs work

I love these new characters and have enjoyed this book. However, the narrator is very choppy. Hopefully she improves for the next book.

William Shatner?

I really enjoy the story, but the narration is making me crazy. The narrator has a very flat voice and pauses often and at odd times, very reminiscent of Willaim Shatner's emoting. It continually pulls me out of the story and is ruining the experience for me. I love the author so much that I endeavored and will keep the book, but I will not buy any additional titles in this series unless the narrator changes.

Maybe I was just spoiled with the Jacky Leon series. I really wish Savannah Gilmore had done both series.

All on all very good but....

The whole story (6 books) is layered and catching, with a few buts for my taste. I got a certain impression - already with Jackie Leon, and here that impression has been confirmed. Unfortunately. How on earth can both heroines be described as powerful & strong and end up being full of trauma, "all-my-faults", and be beaten by many... then miraculously beat the adversary at the very last minute?! I've struggled with Kaliya's obsessions and the extremes but I understand that those were result of her life.
In the first one or two books, voices were almost the same but it got better later on, I.e. easier to tell who said what.
This being said, I have been very invested in both stories and enjoyed listening to them, accepting their little faults as part of the deal, so to say.
I'd like more from the Archives to be narrated to me, even though I'll pass on the vampire installments... Jackie & Khaliya haven't made me love Banet's vampires at all.
