Publisher's summary

Jacobs:

For the last three years, I've lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain. There's only one thing standing in my way. TJ Beckett.

Beck is irresponsible and immature, and I've hated him since the moment we met freshman year. Yet the coaches see something in him I obviously can't, and they refuse to choose between us. The captain spot is going to a team vote. And the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth. Challenges that have nothing to do with hockey. Challenges that are throwing me and Beck together. And he's still as infuriating as ever.

Beck:

I have no idea why Christopher Jacobs hates me, and I can't say I care. I like pushing his buttons, but the guy needs to loosen up.

I'm going to win these stupid challenges easily and spend my senior year as hockey king on this campus. Tormenting Jacobs at the same time will just be a bonus. Even if I'm getting confusing feelings toward him, I won't let it hold me back. When it comes to competing, I'm all in, and nothing will get between me and the W.

Contains mature themes.

Loved It.

Loved it and want more in the series, honestly didn’t think I would have enjoyed this as much as Grant and Seth but I just loved Beck, his cockiness was perfect... this will definitely be a repeat for me.

Loved this story!!!

Topher and his Teddy Bear were just too cute together. I loved the enemies to lovers trope of this, and how the rivalry for the captain spot forged a bond and connection between these two. This book was filled with sweet moments as well as heated ones and also sarcastic banter and I loved every bit of it. I’m unsure why I skipped this book in the series but I’m glad I ended up coming back to it. 5/5!

Started off being irritating

I was absolutely not thrilled with Beck and his rude attitude, and couldn't blame Jacobs for how he felt. But after a couple chapters and things start to show Becks true character and personality it got so good I finished it in a day.

As always, this is one of my favorite narrating Duo's and they are amazing as always. The writing is great and entertaining.

Seeing the characters from the previous book Grant and Zach was also sweet to see how their life is progressing.

Definitely an excellent listen.

Fantastic Series, Awesome Narrators!

Adorable! Enemies to lovers, perfectly done. I could have stood a bit more hockey, but there were some terrific moments here.

Audio beautifully performed by Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma.

OMG this was so wonderful!

Almost every title to date that I've listened to by Finley and Saxon leave me feeling hot and bothered tinged with the warm and fuzzy feelings..."Face offs and Cheap Shots" is probably one of the best if not the best! The relationship developement between Jacobs and Beck from the jump had my blood boiling and then it eased into warm tingling feelings - I loved how they were when they were together; how they talked about their feelings and constantly had to touch each other *sigh* now this is what a romance novel is supposed to invoke! #Igxander all the way...I love and enjoy almost any Iggy Toma / Alexander Cendese collaboration. It doesn't matter what author their performance is always top notch!

5 stars - I would listen again

This is my favorite one in the series

I loved the ebook, but the audio was even better. The story was low angst and a double gfy which is my catnip. I highly recommend this story and the narration.

Jacobs and Beck

An angsty, fun, entertaining and romantic story. Jacobs and Beck embarked on a journey of learning to love whoever they love no matter what others think of it, figuring out who they are and developing a beautiful connection with someone they thought they did not like very much. I guess there is really a thin line between love and hate. I adored this story.
Alexander Cendese is one of my favorite narrators. I will listen to anything he narrates. He brings so much enthusiasm to any story. Add in Iggy Toma makes narration.. Perfection!

Jacobs & Beck

I loved Jacobs and Beck’s story. I've read and or listened a small handful of times and every time I come away loving it more. Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese continue to own this series, and put together stellar narrations. They are nailing the fantastic witty banter these authors weave throughout the story. Jacobs and Becks story had a lot going for it for me from the start. The authors for one. Hockey, college age, first times, enemies to lovers, and all the awakenings to tie it all up in a neat bow. I enjoyed the competitive nature of both these men, both on and off the ice. In the quest to win the Captaincy of their college hockey team they participated in a series of “challenges” to prove their worth to their teammates. I really loved how their relationship from hate to love unfolded. I love how these two began to open up to each other. Each seeing each other for who they were, and not what they each assumed they were over the last 3 years of animosity towards each other. There were a lot of feelings unpacked for both of these guys, and I enjoyed all their firsts and more. I liked the direction that Beck went, and how their HEA unfolded.

I am obsessed

It has really been a while where I was only able to just listen to a book to the finish. Their story grab me since the first chapter and I was obsessed since, i couldn’t stop listening. As soon as I wake up, on my way to work, on my breaks, lunch, after work, staying up late, it could not be helped. AMAZING
