BDSM - also known as bondage and discipline, domination and submission/sadomasochism - has been a common practice of people who seek intense sexual pleasure for centuries. BDSM comes naturally to most individuals, since many generally crave to be dominant while others love the pain-pleasure experience of being submissive. For many, BDSM is highly erotic compared to normal sex as it brings about different excitement and fun for both the dom and the sub. It is designed to provide intense pleasure with some element of pain typically involved in the act or acts. It is more of a "power game" rather than passionate sex.
In the game of BDSM, it takes time and dedication to learn how to play your role. It should be properly crafted and carefully planned to create a lasting union as you enjoy the sexual activities together. So in order for you and your sub to get the most out of your BDSM experience, this book was specifically written to give you the ideas and the proper strategies on how you can train your new sub from practicing BDSM on up to the closing ceremony.

As a Dom in the lifestyle for about 10 years, I feel this short overview contains pretty good info for the new Dom. I have read many "BDSM training" books some are good, others are trash. This book is probably the best of the shorter books. I definitely like the way there are suggested ideas for protocol without a "this is the it has to be" attitude.
I am not saying it has nothing to offer, but this is very much a 1 sided and 1 way of doing things. Along with 0 disclaimers that it is so. To someone new to the community steer clear of this book. Highly opinionated and narrow minded guide to what a BDSM lifestyle is. Look for a book with more diversity.
I loved it from the beginner standpoint it is very good. Now we just need to make a more in depth book teaching the deeper points, as well as more into the different kinds of submissives.
I am 40 and this book is very insightful for me. as i was just introduced to being a Dom. I always thought something was wrong with my attitude but now i realize i have been in the wrong relationships my whole life.
My lady came to me a bit ago asking me what I knew about BDSM. I, like most vanilla people said "people get beat!" She then said that there was a lot more to it than that, and that she had found it interesting. I believe that to be a hint. This audio book was educating and I now have a better understanding of what my lady finds interesting about it. I now have some knowledge to go and have an in depth conversation about it and may even have an opportunity or two to impress her with some of the things I learned.Should we decide to go forward or not is in the air. After this audiobook, I have a foundation on what the first steps are when entering this lifestyle.
