Publisher's summary

Keris Bradford is a woman on the brink.
Of what?
She doesn’t quite know.
Her life is shifting, rapidly, and the sudden, captivating intrusion of Laken Kimble isn’t exactly...reassuring.
For Keris, Laken is comfort and risk wrapped in one very appealing package.
For Laken, Keris is barrier and providence all at once.
For both, there arises a need to navigate those contrasts to a conclusion neither was looking for...a need to answer a simple question.

If you want this...what are you willing to offer in exchange?

Woven so intricately

This book is beautiful. C. Jones is doing her thang. I had to pace myself on her books, because I need to be studying. Oh well, the two main characters handle situations so realistically, with thought, even with Walter getting punched and “shocked”. Good support. Real jobs. Black love. Black businesses. Adoption. Cross-cultural. Therapy. And soooo much more. I do want more after the ending, but the ending is perfect.

Christina does it again!!!

I've read several of Christina C. Jones books and I have to say that this one tops my fav 3. It was a loving, sexy and witty performance by the narrators that kept me hanging 9n every word.

Wow straight 🔥🔥

I was not expecting this story to be this damn good!!! And the 2 narrators were on point… I already knew that Wesleigh was gon do her thang but I wasn’t expecting Emmamuel to be that good either! He did his thang!! They really brought these characters to life! I loved that this book had sex and humor and of course a good storyline!! I thank I found another favorite author 💯

I see you Narrators!!!

Okay Emmanuel Ingram!! This was an excellent performance! Great balance of strength, sexy and swag for the male narrator! I’ve heard Miss Siobhan’s voice in many audiobooks and she never disappoints and this is no different. CCJ is one of my very favorite authors and Equivalent Exchange is just one of the examples why. She has an innate ability to weave these romantic tales together in a way that just draws you in. I read this book on kindle when it came out and finally got to it on audio as well...it was even better!! I love that the characters had their own accomplishments individually, which just happened to fit together perfectly. This was such a great story, great job CCJ!

I stand corrected! Actually enjoyed

Ok. So I said I would not get another Christina Jones book because it had way too much dialogue and unnecessary background. I still believe she gives more details than necessary, but since I was not in a rush due to COVID19, I actually took time to evaluate the dialogue. I still believe this could be cut by an hour, but it wasn’t bad.

I took a chance because of my fav Wesleigh and the newcomer I wanted to hear due to the reviews. Since Jakobi Diem is my voice of choice, I needed to hear someone else that I could possibly listen and relate to since I’m running low on my Jakobi books. Emmanuel Ingram did not disappoint. Since the books with him are limited, I can only assume he is a newcomer. I will continue to look for the books he bring to life.

As for Ms. Jones, this is her writing style. Not bad, if you like details, but, and only my humble opinion, a book if you had time to thoroughly enjoy details. I can appreciate the dialogue, and some people love that. But it’s not something I look for unless I’m reading a dissertation.

This was my first book by Christina🥰

I really enjoyed this book! There were so many layers to what was to come. Just when I thought I knew what would happen , it didn't!! I even started to wonder which one was telling the truth? The ex? Also, I thought for a brief moment that the best friend was imaginary! I laughed, I cried and I enjoyed!! One last thing,
The narrative brought this book to life!!
