Publisher's summary

He’s an orphan with no title. She’s the daughter of the most powerful man in Scotland. Is their secret relationship doomed from the start?

Elizabeth Grant has a secret. For six moons, she’s carried on a torrid relationship with Gil, one of the orphans raised by her cousin Loki at Castle Curanta. She loves Gil, but she’s not ready to marry, and he has reasons of his own to put off a wedding, including his doubt that her father, the great Alexander Grant, would ever accept him as a viable match. There’s one problem with their arrangement - Elizabeth’s parents are encouraging her to marry, and some of her suitors are not so easily put off.

Gil hopes to prove himself worthy of Elizabeth so their doomed dance can come to an end, but he doubts he’ll ever succeed. Then he’s injured on a mission for Loki, and his love rushes to his side, their secret suddenly revealed to all. True happiness seems within their grasp, if Gil can only heal, when something unthinkable happens.

With their lives and love hanging in the balance, Gil must fight for his lass - with Alexander Grant at his side.

Elizabeth (Lizzie)

She did it again! The Highland Clan by Keira Montclair Book #12

Gil , one of Loki's orphans who has been in love with Elizabeth for years. But he fears that he's not good enough for the daughter of the legendary Alex Grant! Elizabeth, the youngest of Alex and Maddie's children. Alex Grant's sweet lassie! But it seems that Lizzie has some fears of her own to deal with. This is a story of coming to terms with not only your past but your future! Another great saga from Clan Grant! And as always Paul Woodson did a great job!

love , honesty

I like the story just ok , for me this book was a little slow going and the main characters were not as exciting as others characters in the books that came before this one. Gil and Elizabeth are very much in love but hold back on telling their family and Laird. There is also the villain who comes back in this story to take Elizabeth for himself and Gil has to prove himself and help save Elizabeth while injured. it is worth a read if there is nothing else but I found it much slower and not as captivating as some of the earlier books in this collection. Enjoy your next read 📚
