What a surprise

I had been under the impression that after the Storm saga that the story line was compleated... I was delighted to find out that many characters had returned and the story of Valdemar continues. The writing continues to be exceptional. The character well developed and the plot imaginative. Looking forward to books 2and 3.

Gryphons !

So happy to read a new gryphon book . In the style of the black gryphon , kell is a young gryphon that is learning he is not invincible . But willing to stand with his friends and still wants adventure.

I’ve always favored intelligent talking animals and in this book you get many . Some favorites are back like Firesong k’Treva . And a few new characters that have become new friends. Definitely for fans of Valdemar and gryphons.

Could I give it 3 1/2?

I agree with other reviewers that this didn’t seem to be Mercedes writing. The writing is good, just not like her. Nothing got finished, and they take forever to get the circus on the road, and there are so many being in the caravan that it did seem like a circus.

They didn’t say so, but do Ghost Cat Clan wear red shirts?

Anpther neat adventure from Valdemar universe. I enjoyed it very much. The reader was very good.

A stand alone AND a whole new line up for Valdemar enthusiasts!

Another winner for this duo of authors. ❤️ if a story can make me laugh, cry and stay up way to late to finish it 😊

great but...

it's the plot to Star Wars ep1 but with griffins. the book was great. I'm a big fan of Mercedes Lackey . I enjoy the book greatly once I got beyond that. it did end far too soon but I look forward to the next

I always love the gryphon stories! The plot development was was very well done! Had a lot of depth and details. The main characters were well done! The narrator was excellent!

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Kudos to the Lackey/Dixon partnership for their masterful story telling!
The richness of their prose matures both outstanding authors to reach new heights of storytelling.
Paul Woodson’s masterful narration is mezzanine. As he switches from character to character, he creates each as a multidimensional being. Mr. Woodson has a vocal range that allows each character
- male or female- their own unique voice. (I could listen to Mr. Woodson reading soup labels 🥰)
And it’s Valdemar, which makes the story magical.

A great setup story and it was enjoyable to listen to. I liked the narrator and am really hoping the next story comes soon

Ugh

Didn’t like the beginning. Didn’t like the end. Really enjoyed the middle. I don’t know why you’re doing this to us! How long do we have to wait for the rest of the story? It shouldn’t have been a part one and part two. It would’ve been better to have one great big long novel! What the H?
