Publisher's summary

Everything she believes is a lie.

Amelia Nettleton has struggled to overcome her childhood trauma and finally has a chance to lead a normal life - a life with a husband and a family. But a recurring nightmare haunts her: She dreams of a baby crying for its mother… a baby that may be hers, and was stolen from her.

Six years ago, special agent John Strong woke up in a hospital with no memories - but with a strong feeling that he committed terrible acts. Now, driven to atone for a history he can’t remember, he works with the FBI to locate missing children.

When Amelia turns to John for help, an intoxicatingly familiar passion ignites between them. But the closer they get, the more secrets from their dark pasts come to light…secrets that someone will kill to keep them from discovering.

Best of the series..

Any additional comments?

So, this is what I wrote when I reviewed Worth Dying For, the third book in this series, "I'm going to read Dying for Love now, Amelia's story, but this one is a little iffy for me. She was whacked during all the other books so I'm not so sure she can ever be better."

Well, guess what? This was my favorite book of the entire series. I absolutely loved John and Amelia.
And what a great ending, or not. There really is room for another book or ten but as far as I'm concerned this is the end for me.
I've had enough of Slaughter Creek but not enough of Rita Herron.
This book didn't have as much sex as the others did but that was a good thing. Amelia was portrayed as still being fragile so too much sex wouldn't have been good, she would have been too much like Viola.
This was a great series and I do recommend it.

I got this book and the audio free with my KindleUnlimited.

As to the narrator: Tanya Eby did a spectacular job on all four of the books in this series. Her range of voices is simply wonderful.

Wow!!

There were so many twists and turns in this story that occasionally I stopped walking as I was shocked. And I talked out loud a few times also. good thing it was just my dogs around me. Really important to have read/listened to the previous books in the series.

Good ending to this series! Great Narration!

The Slaughter Creek series is over. It was a great series to listen to. I enjoyed all 4 books. And the narration was fantastic. You have to read the entire series in order to get the full story and impact of the series. They are not cliffhangers at all, thankfully. (I hate cliffhangers). It's just best and more enjoyable to read/listen to them all in order.

This book is about Amelia, who had multiple personalities and our Hero John Stone.

This was another great mystery, intrigue and suspense. The character development was great, throughout the entire series as well as this book. The chemistry between the two was very good and felt real. There is a couple of very nicely written sex scenes, not graphic or erotica.

There was lots of dialogue throughout the entire book which was great! Love lots of dialogue, makes a story so much better.

The story line and plot was really good and kept you guessing. Not guessing as much as the previous books but still guessing quite a bit. That is always good in a story.

As for the narration, it was fantastic. Tanya Eby does a really great job narrating. Her reading voice is nice, she gives everyone their own distinct voice, the men sound like men, and she reads with emotion,

This was a free read free listen with my KU subscription. Fantastic deal for sure!

I still wouldn't want to live in Slaughter Creek. LOL

Just so-so

Too many situations were too convenient to really be believable.
This story was kinda far fetched to be real.
I did finish it even though I thought it was obvious in how it was going to end.

Story predictable

Too many “hard body parts” lol, I don’t want sex sprinkled into my murder/mayhem stories, I stuck w Rita on this series just to finish... I’m finished; the storyline was ok, narration was stilted at times as it has been throughout the series. I’ll prob avoid Rita’s books now as they were just too corny for me. Some surprise elements but not the most intelligent series out there.

Amazingly Thrilling

Honestly I was not a fan when I first began this series, but I am so glad I kept going. After the first two chapters of the first book I was hooked. The first book was thrilling and set the stage for the series but not one of these books ended where I thought they were headed. I was surprised by the twists and turns each book took and how they all intertwined with one another. The characters and their stories all overlapped and concluded in one big fireball at the end of the series. I absolutely loved this series. The characters are real and believeable as are their bonds of love and friendship. There is humor amidst the mystery and sometimes in the places you least expect humor and I enjoyed that alot. I'd be so into some dark part of a chapter than find myself laughing out loud at some some small humorous remark or thought of a character. The narrator was amazing as well. I have listened to other audio books read by Ms. Eby and I enjoy listening to her very much. I was able to distingush each character by her subtle changes in her voice and I am glad she nartated the entire series. I truly enjoy Rita Herron's writing. She definitely has a knack for keeping the reader involved and guessing.

Great series

All 4 books in this series has great storylines, suspense, and romance. I'm not one for graphic sexual detail when unnecessary to the storyline but it wasn't in great abundance and doesn't deflect from the story. Highly recommend but know the one or 2 sex scenes are very graphic and could cause you to want to wake your husband 😉

Meh dying for a better character

The performance/reading was great, but I found the main protagonist, Banks to be a shallow and self absorbed character and in no way likable. I get it's fiction but seriously no police/FBI/CIA would allow a journalist involvement the way this books shows it If this wasn't part of a series I would have put it down after the 2nd chapter. I had to wince my way through this one. Hopefully the 3rd installment is better.
