Publisher's summary

Two weeks of freedom hasn’t been enough for Eli to rebuild his life. While he races to prepare for looming winter, a killer’s crusade to exterminate Seufert Fells’s homeless drives a knife into the city’s criminal elite.

Forced to hunt a killer disguised by magic, Eli’s world becomes a house of mirrors. Friends become enemies. Deceptions abound, and the magic that saved Eli threatens to consume him.

With the serial killer targeting everything he loves, even new dumpstermancer spells might not be enough. Eli may have to protect his worst enemy to defeat a killing machine with a thousand faces.

Better than the first book in the series

I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Maybe because I was already familiar with the main character, but I also enjoyed the other characters who complicate his life in weird ways. If there is another book in this series I will read it.

fantastic continuation of the story!!!

Great story and narration!

The story continues - Eli is healing up after the fallout of his dealings in the first book. With his relationship with his rat (Ret) friends in question, a murderer on the loose, and Adam raising hell, Eli has his hands full as he tries to sort out his life and find out if his fiancé is ok or even alive.

If you enjoyed the first book then you will love the second in this series! Fun - fast paced - full of action

I can't wait for the next book to come out!!!

Another homerun

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I enjoyed this second book as much if not more than the first. Again, the narrator was awesome and I really enjoyed his performance. This continued journey brought in even more intrigue and complications. I again enjoyed the realism thrown into the fantasy as the author reference familiar places and events. Such a fun listen. I hope that the series will continue.

Excellent

This was an very good listen. The narration was excellent. There is plenty of action, magic and illusion. As with the first book, this one ends in a cliff hanger.

Loved it

I liked this one better than the first in the series and I liked that one a lot.
Once again our main character is on the streets in his self imposed exile from society, due to his own stubborn will and anger he refuses to let anyone close and he realizes that it might not all be that bad.
My favorite part is when he has to deal with his little origami spider(who is a total ass) I also really enjoyed his dinner with his parents and Sunny. Absolutely hilarious. I'm sad it's already over.
“I received this book in exchange for an honest review”.

Super Entertaining Urban Fantasy

Eli continues consistently getting the short end of the shortest stick in this continuation of the dumpstermancer series. A chameleon killer is hunting the homeless (and fakers) and he's roped into solving that. Then there's dealing with his family, his potential fae family, his smart ass construct inhabitant, the hopelessly helpful busy body Sunny, his old assistant, his old CEO, a magical siren, and crooked cops.

The fights are great, characters are fleshed out, and Eli is still the picture of a grumpy man disillusioned with the world and just wanting to be left alone. But he can't, so the story and awesome narration lead the listener along with Eli as he goes through hell trying to save parts of a world who in many cases would rather he disappear. That conflict between his desires and his conscience is probably the best non action part of this series. He is very much the reluctant savior/helper/hero. But that doesn't get old, and he continues to impress with his Macgyver styled ability to turn cheap junk into magic.

I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it. I received the review code for this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Amazing sequel

Full disclosure I was given this audio book in return for a unbiased review.

Seriously yall this sequel snaps. All our favorite characters are back and boy did it not disappoint. I can't believe it took me this long to read. Action, back story, and magic up the ass. I love how believable the characters are and how I'm on the edge of my seat after a big sequence. Definitely read it asap.

Great Series

Book 2 picks up where 1 left off continuing this action packed adventure. I really enjoy how magic is used in this series. The narration is easy to understand with on point pacing. I look forward to more from this author

An incredible series you need to try

if you love urban fiction where the hero is constantly getting the crap kicked out of him by life as he finds a way to save the innocent from doom then you will love this series.

Eli is a good guy who was framed by his best friend and lost everything. Even though he has nothing he uses every bit of the little he does have to fight, golems, elves, and other far in the modern day.

I cannot recommend this series enough and I really hope it gets the popularity it deserves.

Do yourself a favor and try it.
