Publisher's summary

In 1998, Dr. Louis J. Ignarro was awarded a rare and coveted Nobel Prize for his groundbreaking discovery of nitric oxide (NO) and its many critically important biological actions. But his work goes far beyond the development of Viagra. It has never been more urgently relevant to the world than it is today, as clinical trials are underway that involve using inhaled NO to treat patients suffering from COVID-19.

Most Nobel laureate books have focused on the science. But in this fascinating and timely memoir, Dr. Ignarro opens up and shares intimate details about himself and his journey, his amazing accomplishments and heartbreaking setbacks, both in science and in life. This isn't just a scientist's story, it's a quintessentially American story. Only in America could the child of uneducated Italian immigrants start out a struggling student barely able to speak English, and go on to win the Nobel Prize.

Great Book--Narration Sounds Like AI

This is the inspiring story of a brilliant scientist. Great book. I love the story. I wish I had bought a hard copy or Kindle copy. I purchased the Audible version. It sounds like a human voice, but the pronunciation of some words and tempo of speech are distracting and don't sound right. It makes me wonder if it is actually "AI" or a computer program "reading" the book. One example is a section that talks about the equation E=MC(squared). The voice pronounced the equation three different ways in three different sentences. The following are my attempts to spell out phonetically how it sounds...One got it right, "E equals M C squared." Another says, "E equals M C two." A third says, "E equals McSquared." The McSquared is pronounced like the fast food restaurant McDonalds, but McSquared. I understand that we are in the age of AI, but it takes away from Dr. Ignarro's incredible story and he deserves better. My criticism of the narration is not intended to take away from Dr. Ignarro's book or work in any way. I am still going to finish the book because I find Dr. Ignarro's story fascinating!

Super BOOK

Very special contribution to human beings’ welfare by the highly honorable and repeatable person.
Most honest and reliable information than “Think and Grow Rich”.
