Doctor nine

Very short story with murderous characters who are connected in some way. this book isn't as easy for me to rate.

I want more!

Absolutely loved this story! At points the location was briefly difficult to picture, but the story is unique, interesting and completely pulled me in. I wanted it to be an entire book, not just a short story! Or one of a series about the main character! Johnathan, if you are reading this, would you write more on this little girl? Please?!

There is 'in media res' and then there's this.

This might be a good story, it might be really interesting, but I couldn't get past the cold open. It starts in a car with strange characters and there is so little context and so much familiarity between the characters that I couldn't get a grasp on what was happening.

Rather repugnant tale of a budding serial killer

There were several off things about this book, chief among them was the James Earl Gray deep gravelly voice narrating a short story that follows the POV of a young girl and burgeoning serial killer. Also, for a book written in 2008, set during the internet age, it is over fond of the word mulatto. Random repellent imagery included describing colors such as piss yellow. Ultimately, I found this a rather pedestrian tale. For a better take on following the POV of a sociopathic killer, try Daisy Chains (another short Audible freebie) or A Certain Hunger (a full length book, if you like the idea of following a cannibalistic, craven sex fueled female serial killer)..
