Publisher's summary

When a dead body is found face-down in a vat of chocolate inside Stormi's mother's bakery, what's a nosy neighbor to do other than find a killer?

Just when she was rethinking her new writing venture of hunting down crimes in order to write about them, Stormi is thrust into another mystery. Someone wants the shop owners of Oak Meadows, Arkansas, to sell out, and they will kill to make that happen. Stormi is determined to keep her idyllic town the quaint place it is.

Her neighbors are not what they seem, evil encroaches ever closer, and the little old woman across the street wants nothing more than to chase Stormi out of town.

Full of the same quirky characters that Cynthia Hickey's fans have come to expect, Death by Baking doesn't disappoint in either her humorous whodunit style or in the romance department.

Love this series

Stormi finds herself in another bind when a man is found dead in her mother's shop. She has to figure out why as well as figure out why someone is trying to buy up the town. I love all the binds she finds herself in and how the other characters in the book seem to go along with her wanting to help. Can't wait for the next one.

I received a copy to listen to, the review is mine.

Death by chocolate has whole a new meaning...

Good grief, am I having fun with this series! Each new Nosy Neighbor Mystery is my favorite, and, Death By Baking was not exception. Seriously, author Cynthia Hickey has the cozy mystery thing down to a science, or art, or whatever you want to call it.

This time around Stormi doesn't stumble over the body, her mom does. But what else can Stormi do other than try and solve the two seemingly different mysteries surrounding her mom's bakery. Since Death By Baking involved a bakery I was pretty darn hungry for something sugary as I tried to solve the mystery alongside Stormi and crew, but it sure was fun...

Once again I listened to this story via audiobook and once again I was quite please with the overall production. No glitches and the continuity of having the same narrator as the previous audiobooks was a real plus. Cynthia Hickey's scrumptious story was done well and it was a great listening/reading experience. Don't miss it!

(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
