Publisher's summary

Investment banker Ash Taylor left her cut-throat world to set up a cool, cutting-edge tattoo studio. Her love life's been a lot bumpier, though. Ever since a heart-breaking affair with a straight colleague, she's vowed to steer clear of women unsure of their sexuality.

Talent-agency executive Carmen Lyttleton is straight, career focused, and not prone to distraction from her occasional casual relationships. When her best friend gets a tattoo at Ash's studio, Carmen finds herself unexpectedly impressed by Ash and her business.

When they accidentally meet again, Carmen is shocked by the sparks between them and the realization that she feels a lot more than just admiration for Ash's work ethic. It can't possibly mean what it seems...can it?

The pull between the women is powerful but so are their fears, old baggage, and stubbornness. Can they dare to love?

Contains mature themes.

Very enjoyable

This was a very good love story and I loved the way it flowed without an over abundance of unnecessary drama. I appreciated the way the author dealt with teen confusion and parental turmoil. A parent who loves their child can still make mistakes and unintentionally hurt their loved ones. I especially appreciate that the author didn’t feel the need to preach with her words. Great narration and all around good listen.

Lovely

Loved this audiobook - well developed characters who are charming and endearing. The secondary characters, friends and family of Ash and Carmen were appealing in their own right and critical to the story. A realistic
and wonderful love story. I plan to listen to as many more from this author as I can!

Very Good Story!!

A very slow burn, but it was worth the wait! The development of Ash and Carmen's relationship was slow and sweet. It also allowed to feature the other characters in the story - Ash's sister and niece, Carmen's brother and her friends - which was nice and touched on some serious issues for the MCs. This was such a feel good story - I truly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author.

A bit boring

It was a great coming to terms kind of listened and I did enjoy the accents, as I’m from America but it was a bit boring.

Dare

I've read quite a few books by A.L. Brooks, this book is the first from her that I could finish. It read like a harlequin romance, boring at times. So much angst and OMG the women were in there 40s. I'll think twice buying another book from this author.
