Publisher's summary

A game of pretend with the highest stakes of all in the latest novel of breathtaking romance from USA Today bestselling author Caitlin Crews

Ty Everett ran off to the rodeo when he turned eighteen and has been riding bulls ever since…until his last fall causes partial amnesia and he must return to Cold River Ranch to figure out what comes next. But how can he pick his next move when he can’t remember how he got here in the first place - much less the beautiful woman who appears at the ranch, claims she knows him, and warms his cold heart for the first time since he woke up in the hospital?

Rodeo Queen Hannah Monroe gave up her crown for Ty Everett, and her innocence. What she wants from Ty now is a divorce. But Ty can’t remember her - or their secret wedding, or even the son she never meant to hide from him - and Hannah is torn. How can she leave the man she can’t forget and still loves despite herself? And even if she’s willing to start over, what will happen when the truth comes out?

“Caitlin Crews writes cowboys you’ll swoon over…and will grip your heart.” - Nicole Helm, author of Cowboy SEAL Redemption

Loved this second chance cowboy!

Ty Everett spent most of his life living with a very unhappy, mean father who never showed any of his three sons love. This causes him to grow up and become a very cold-hearted bull riding cowboy on the rodeo circuit. He and his two brothers really don't get along with each other and it puts distance between them. Ty and the younger brother both leave the ranch to pursue their own interest until their father passes away leaving the ranch to the three boys. Ty has been hurt on the rodeo circuit and returns to the ranch after his injuries cause him to lose his career. He has also lost two whole years of his memories and he keeps this a secret from his two brothers. The most important part of this is the fact that he has forgotten about his wife, Hanna. Hanna had told Ty that she was three months pregnant right before he goes out to ride one of the most dangerous bulls on the rodeo circuit. Ty is very angry about this because he had never wanted to be a father for fear he would act like his father. When he lands in the hospital she goes to see him again to be with him, and he screams and tells her to leave and never come back. Hanna leaves and has their son on her own. She also faces a dysfunctional relationship with her mother who tells Hanna to never trust a man. All of her mother's advice is negative and unhelpful and causes Hanna to have her own insecurities.

After Ty is released he returns home to the ranch where Hanna shows up after having their son. She shows up to ask for a divorce not knowing Ty has suffered memory loss. They decide to give their marriage another try by giving Ty some time to get to know her again. Ty still does not know he is a father because Hanna is afraid to tell him knowing what happened the first time she told him. She also wants to keep Jack, their son, safe from being hurt by a father that wants nothing to do with him. Hanna's mother has been keeping Jack but shows up unannounced to force Ty to make a choice about staying in his marriage. Ty is hit with the fact that he has a son and that Hanna has kept him a secret. This is done in front of all the brothers and their families. Ty tells Hanna again to leave and not to come back. Everything comes to a head and both secrets get revealed. Ty admits to his brothers he has lost two years of memories, and Hanna tells why she kept Jack a secret. They both must decide to face everything they have done wrong and they come together and work things out. In the end, Hanna decided she was going to fight for her marriage and she does just that! I loved the way it comes about.

The story was well written and moved at a good pace. I found that I got invested in the story quickly and wanted to see them get their HEA. Well done Ms. Crews!

Eric G. Dove was wonderful as always and brought all the different characters to life. I always knew which person was speaking just from his voice. They were separated so well! Five stars to you sir!

It was a great book how about your trust. Love the western romances and ride it

Life was really depicted true to life on the farm. Long hours and hard work. Friendships between Hanna and Abbey were warm and accepting.
