Wow

What a book! It’s going to take a while to digest the two “ends” (you’ll see what I mean) because the intertwined stories are so dense. What an amazing illustration of the carousel of choices and consequences. Highly recommend!

Ana K. One of the most amazing books.

One of the most beautiful books I have ever read.
Tolstoy portrays Russian society in that torrid period. I believe Anna K and Kevin are the most important characters of the book.

Wonderful characters and narration

One of my favorite aspects of stories is the character development. This book really went into detail with the individual lives of each character, like multiple separate stories all tied together by their relationships with one another. My favorite character was Konstantin. Such a kind and likeable person- I was rooting for him the whole time.

The narration was on point with excellent capturing of the emotions and distinct voices so that I never got lost with who is who.

This book is categorized as a romance, and it is-but I would still definitely recommend this to anyone not interested in romances because it really does involve a lot more than infatuation.

If you decide to watch after reading, I'd recommend the 2000 TV mini series with Steven Dillane because he does so well as Karenin.

one for the anthropologist

I love Leo Tolstoy, from his short stories to War and Peace but never read Anna Karenina because the idea of adultery disgusts me. I finally listened to it and loved it. I enjoyed the story line, the characterization, and the way the two story lines intermingled and played off of each other. I love that it got me thinking and made me respect my own marriage even more. it got me thinking about the role that communication, trust, and respect play into a relationship and how without them love isn't enough.

One of the best yet. Great engaging book

war and peace was a bit too much "philosophizing" by the author. this book nailed it. was pure joy from start to finish. you really get caught up and the time flew for this one. highly recommend.

Ridiculous narration

One has to blame the producers for the quality, or lack thereof. Does it not occur to them to listen to the playback before continuing with the narration?

it's ridiculous that the narrator feels like he has to whisper the intimate portions of the dialogue. I have to turn my radio to full volume just to barely hear what he's saying only to be blasted seconds later when he speaks at his normal loud voice.

Very amateurish and disappointing

A long classic

I tried to read this book before but did not get far. I completed the audio book. The story is very long with parts where my interest lagged. The narrator was excellent.
