Publisher's summary

The chaos that recently gripped America has been replaced with an era of prosperity and joy. Markets are flourishing, people are happy, and the country is in recovery. Although much was lost in the turmoil of the previous year, the country was feeling as if they’d dodged a bullet.

Dave Cavanaugh, the silver haired outdoorsman, mountain hiker, and billionaire dubbed the “Richard Branson of the Rockies,” presses ahead with his audacious plan to build walled, gated communities across the country to preserve art, science, medicine, and religion. These Arks of America are planned to be islands of hope during times of strife, chaos, and uncertainty.

An early investor in the program, Liz Pendleton, the beautiful auburn haired actress from Kentucky, is back at work making movies. Both she and Dave are concerned for Vince Cavanaugh, the billionaire’s nephew, a divorced, gruff ex-Special Forces soldier who’s experiencing a deep personal calamity, leaving him a shell of his former self.

Without Vince the entire Arks of America program could fail.

In the prosperity of the post-chaotic America, the group who so recently survived together is spread across the country when the unthinkable happens again.

Are they prepared to support the people who need them?
Can the government right one more crisis?
Can Vince summon the strength to be the hero they need?

A thoroughly enjoyable listen

I prefer finding a series that is almost complete or is complete, because if I really like it, I want to binge listen to the whole thing at once.
I really, really like this series, and I’m sad there’s only 2 out so far. Carey has done a great job coming up with an idea that’s a little different from the other PA novels. Arks. What an interesting idea. It’s a good cautionary tale on picking those around you wisely.
Vince and Liz are my favorite characters so far, Matthew makes me want to shake him every time he talks, and Kate. Oh, Kate. What are you thinking?

Can’t wait for the next book! Thanks, D.A, for sharing a little of Kentucky with someone who longs to move there RIGHT NOW, and even swinging by my town on the group’s way to the Texas Ark.

Thank goodness

Ok, first possible spoiler thank you so much for not killing off certain characters as one in particular is my favorite and my anger at one point almost caused me to stop reading(being vague so as not to drop too much of a spoiler) . Next it's so great to read something with some political common sense(seems improbable to have those 2 notions in one phrase) on the plausible results of some ideals, as well as some solid preparedness ideas. The writing is good, story is great, and characters make you believe in heroes/heroines again. The narration is great as well. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I'm wary of giving unfinished series 5 stars so authors don't get lazy, I would have given a 4.7 at least though with more precise measurements.

Entertaining and recommended.

Personally I am a little upset how you left the book..... I need to know what happens next! so please please please finish book 3 so I can learn more. I love this genre and find them fun and exciting. I also agree our country could be headed for a decline. Thanks D.A. for keeping me entertained.
