Good Action Adventure Listen

This is an action adventure story like Jack Ryan with enough twists and turns to keep you interested. Lots of travel, fighting, drinking, and escaping. If you like this genre, you will like this book. Narration is well done. Good plot and character development. Fun action listen!

Hard to Follow

It was hard to follow the plot. Couldn't sometimes understand what the main character was up to.

Atypical Spy Story

'Capitol Break' was a atypical but interesting spy story. It had a good number of twists an turns which kept me guessing who the bad guy really was. When I found out I was really surprised. Well worth a read.

Well worth a credit!!!

I listen to 2 to 3 books a week. I stumbled across this one and decided to check it out. it's by far one of the best books I've heard in a very long time. lots of action plot twists great lead character. and the narrator is awesome. I've downloaded the next in series already!!!

Boring!

Probably the most boring thriller ever. Story never went anywhere. The narrator wasn’t bad but there was no energy to give it any excitement.

cliché after cliché

Good Lord it is like it was computer generated it is so rote and predictable.

this was terrible and couldn't wait for it to end...and not in a good way.

absurd

I get the sense that the author was trying for a Jack Reacher/Gray Man vibe. The story is random incomprehensible violence interspersed with a bit of a spy story. Less story than violence as well as bouts of drinking competitions with other spies.
Glad it was free. Couldn't even finish it.

Bloody awful and awfully Bloody

I think it was written for 12-year-old boys. I was expecting something more thrilling and not as childish. some of the things that the main character says does not make sense. when the character goes to buy a gun in Cuba he spends $300 with somebody to tell him where to go get the gun. then when he goes to get the gun the price is too high he ends up killing the guys because they want his watch. nothing like making a bloodbath when you're a spy. then they kill the guy in the club and Sue just happens to have $5,000 in her purse to buy a car an old Chevy and then they get chased by a Lamborghini great writing for a 12-year-old boy to ingest. have you ever tried to shoot a gun out of a Lamborghini I don't think so especially on a bouncy Road in Cuba. just awful I tried to give it time to see if the writing got better it just got worse sorry - the main character was getting out of DC and a kid on the train recognized him - master spy - no - they have girls prisoners and the bad guys shoot up the barn and lose all that money - on and on - Totally unexceptable and total waste of my time

Should be in ridiculous fantasy category

I enjoy a well-written, mystery, spy novel- this isn't among them.

The author engages in scenarios that even the most naive reader would find absurd- I had enough when the lead character - Deputy Director for the CIA- supposedly flies into Cuba, commercial via Canada, and anticipates NO one will recognize him for who he is. That would assume that the Cuban or the readers are morons.
This is but one example of an absurd storyline.
