Publisher's summary

What's holding you back? Your hard work is paying off. You are doing well in your field. But there is something standing between you and the next level of achievement. Perhaps one small flaw, a behavior you barely even recognize, is the only thing that's keeping you from where you want to be.

Who can help? Marshall Goldsmith is an expert at helping global leaders overcome their (sometimes unconscious) annoying habits and attaining a higher level of success. His one-on-one coaching comes with a six-figure price tag. But with this audiobook, you'll get Marshall's great advice without the hefty fee!

What is the solution? The Harvard Business Review asked Goldsmith, "What is the most common problem faced by the executives that you coach?" Inside, he answers this question by discussing not only the key beliefs of successful leaders, but also the behaviors that hold them back. He addresses the fundamental problems that often come with success and offers ways to attack them. Goldsmith outlines 20 habits commonly found in the corporate environment and provides a systematic approach to helping executives achieve a positive change in behavior.

For the next level of leadership

I recommend this book for anyone in leadership that understands or is trying to understand that leading is not a destination it’s an ongoing journey of learning, failing, success, and personal and professional growth.

I didn’t think I’d like this book but I loved it.

Used properly this book makes you hold a mirror to yourself. It was at times uncomfortable and enlightening. I found it challenging to read in a productive way and identified 3 key areas where I need to improve myself.

Prompts one to evaluate and change his or her behavior

I like how fast I saw positive results in myself and others by practicing what I learned : for example , sometimes simply responding“thanks” is enough.

A must read

Excellent breakdown of the shortfalls of a strong leader. Reminds me of the "rinsing the cottage cheese" from good to great. This book helps even the most dynamic leader find ways to improve themselves.

Helps you take a good look in the mirror

This book is all about examining yourself so that you can be a better person and influence positive change in those around you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has achieved a level of success and may have become stagnant - this book may very well be your answer as to why.
