Amazing read. Very insightful and practical!

A must read for small business owners or anyone thinking about starting or buying a small business

This book is a must-read for small business owners or anyone thinking about starting or buying a Small business. Understanding the three characteristics and then some is pertinent to being successful in the business owners world. As a business broker I see business is every day that need to understand this concept, so I recommend this book all the time.
I see businesses every day that are failing because they don’t have all the necessary skills and knowledge to bring it together to grow it properly. E-Myth Revisited could help small business owners understand what they need to do to learn the proper skills and characteristics to get their business to the next level to allow them to get the best value and set up a proper exit strategy when they do you want to sell the business.

Makes you understand why systems are important

This book. explains in great detail why having systems in you business is important but I don't think it goes into detail on how to create those systems. I like how they use a story to explain the lessons they are teaching.

Useful information shrouded in boredom

At first this book was incredibly boring. It follows the story of "Sarah" and her business "All About Pies". It's painfully dull. I get that "Sarah" is a useful tool for trying to emphasize the points Gerber is trying to make. When it comes to the information and insight into what makes a successful business, this book is gold. I highly recommend it, despite the lame "Sarah" story.

Reality Check Before Starting Your Business

This is a must read book before starting your business. I agree with some reviews, that it does not give you a practical step by step approach of what to do. But, it gives you the most important step for your business. Which is you must write a thorough plan before starting your business.

The Reality Check is that you can't do everything by yourself and your crazy if you think you can. You must write out a plan of how your business will run on a day to day basis with tasks that can be carried out by people who have little to no prior experience. Your business plan should be written out so that if someone was to buy your business, they can run your business without you with no hitch or problems. That's the main point of this book...write your business plan out in the most layman terms as possible.

An amazing perspective on reality.

As I progressed through this, it became vividly clear what I needed to do, or rather become. I knew this all along. wow!
