Publisher's summary

The most inspiring and impactful books ever written, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The 8th Habit have captivated audiences for nearly three decades. They have transformed the lives of presidents and CEOs, educators and parents - millions of people of all ages and occupations.

The 7 Habits have become famous and are integrated into everyday thinking by millions and millions of people. Why? Because they work! With Sean Covey’s added takeaways on how the habits can be used in our modern age, the wisdom of the 7 Habits will be refreshed for a new generation of leaders.

They include:

Habit 1: Be Proactive

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Habit 3: Put First Things First

Habit 4: Think Win/Win

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

Habit 6: Synergize

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

But accessing the higher levels of human genius in today’s new reality requires a change in thinking: a new mindset and a new skill-set - in short, a new habit. The crucial challenge of our world today is this: to find our voice and inspire others to find theirs. It is what Covey calls the 8th Habit.

The 8th Habit is the answer to the soul’s yearning for greatness, the organization’s imperative for significance and superior results, and humanity’s search for its “voice.” Now in one audio edition, you can enjoy all the benefits from two of Covey’s most influential books. With this tried and tested expert advice, we can change the way we think about ourselves, our purpose in life, our organizations, and humankind.

Get the FULL version of 7 Habits

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If it would have included more of the original version of the book

Any additional comments?

7 Habits of Highly Effective People changed my life! I wanted to refresh and listen to again on my road trip & decided on the unabridged version because of a comment that I read recommending it, They wrote that they preferred this version because it wasn't as long but still good if not better. I cannot agree with that at all. The unabridged version cut out many details and one in particular that I was wanting to listen to again & that is the part about emotional bank accounts. If wondering which to choose pick the original you won't regret it,

perfect audio book

The audio quality is perfect. Easy to listen in a noisy car. The audio consists of 2 parts: the 7 habits and the 8 habit. The 7 habits is the best part. Key information. This abridged version is a very good summary of the book The 7 habits. Spoken by Stephen Covey himself: pleasant voice.

Great Listen

I wish there were more abridged versions of great books to help cut down on listening times. This is a high points option of classic read.

The abridged version is quick and just hits the key points. Well worth your time. I will probably listen to the unabridged versions soon.

Great for abridged version

It's hard to condense the full book into 3 hours, but that's expected. Considering what has to be packed into this shorter version it's well worth it, particularly for a quick refresher!

The eighth habit is unclear and tedious to hear

The abridged 7 habits are great and concise, but the 8th habit is just filled with nonsense about visions and virtues and souls. What's the deal?

Great recap and reminder

I would highly recommend this book as a reminder for those who previously read the seven habits of highly effective people. It is an excellent summary of the key points as well as an introduction to the eighth habit.
