Connie Dieken had me at the introduction but lost me after an hour of failing to deliver on any of the hype indicated in the introduction. Whatever she had to say, she said it in the introduction. She didn???t deliver on the tease. She ???connected??? but failed to ???convey??? or ???convince???, to use her own words.
She name dropped Bill Clinton, Dr Ruth, and Jack Welch, but didn???t talk about them. She said you need to connect, convey and convince, but didn???t say how. The examples she gave were general and artificial in nature and not real-world. She may have actually done the research she claims to have done, but she is not a practitioner the method she promotes.
She did talk about the importance of candor. So, candidly, I think it???s not worth the time.

Long story short, I think this book may provide you with some value if you haven't read Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" (and if you're ok with the narrator's smug and cutesy tone). If you haven't read it already, I highly recommend reading (listening to) that instead of this book. If you already read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" I recommend you to re-read (re-hear) it before re-considering buying "Talk less, say more".

This was a good read, The advice was very sound. I found that many of the things the authored conveyed where common sense, but things that might never have been put into practice without the reminder.
i really didnt like the style of reading. i managed to get through 30 minutes and was borred out of my skull... and the tips and concepts are elementary. this is a book for middle schoolers.

nothing deep or revolutionary here, but a good basic summary / refresher of effective practices. i like that she summarizes each chapter so it can be easily referenced later. i also like that she describes examples of what people with problems in each of the three areas may experience as this can help me identify areas of opportunity for myself or my team and help me suggest specific ideas to improve.
I hear to a lot of audio books. This one is the worst ever. The author talks too much and says too less. Ironic. Don't waste your credit on this.
its hilarious, this is a audio book to help you connect, the woman just drones on and on and repeats useless business hyperbole, states the obvious and targets her lecture at lifeless shirt and ties. yawn, what a mistake buying this
