I hoped to get more out of this book. The other reviews were encouraging but there just isn't enough meat in this audio book to make it desirable. It does have some good points but far shy in number to be a decent book.
I would highly recommend The Modern Scholar Way with Words: Writing Rhetoric and the Art of Persuasion to help you learn how to engage your readers and listeners. It actually covers more than just writing. As for books specifically on public speaking I would try The Art of Public Speaking before recommending this one.
This is the most valuable public speaking book I've ever heard. The information revealed is a must for anyone who presents to an audience, large or small. Whether discussing how to prepare for your talk, the qualities of top speakers, or how to work an audience, Tracy will teach you techniques that will make you a winner every time!
Among the audiobooks I've listened to thus far Speak to Win is definitely in the top ranks.
Brian Tracy is consistently "spot on" with his messages and is a great source if your looking to gather the tools to make you a professional at what you do.
I've only listened through one time, my biggest take away on my first listen is how to manage hotel and event coordinators. I think Brian saved me from making a few mistakes I would have learned the hard way!
Well worth the time and money. Just like the rest of my B. Tracy collection this will pay for itself 100 times over!
This book has some really good tips for presenting and I enjoyed the content. However, I was a little surprised at how stilted and somewhat bland Brian Tracy's reading of his own book was, especially considering the title. You could also hear him moving the sheets of paper that he is reading from, which was annoying. I've also listened to Eat that Frog!, which Tracy reads much better, so it's the performance of this book that's average. In all honesty, I don't think Tracy reading his own book added a whole lot of value here and it could have been better read by someone else. But the book is still helpful for people who want to improve their presenting.
This book is a license to an effective public speaking/presentation, and only if one masters and applies the principles herein. Typical of Brian Tracy's work.
Very well thought out and well spoken/written.
There is a lot of material that I am going to use.
It would be great to have PDF notes to be able to print and refer to.
it is one of the best books I've ever read step by step process
the order in witch was presented
yes the one where it says the reason why you should learn to speak in public it's to raise your self stem
if you want to become a profetional speaker you must listen to this book
"An excellent book - all round."
I really enjoyed this audiobook. In fact, so much I bought the book to go with it. I think it'll depend on your perspective, but I found this to be useful on so many levels. I don't always speak int he same settings as Mr Tracy, but one can easily transfer the suggested skills over to day to day life. A really good buy if you're someone with a passion and want to know how to deliver it well.
