In Platform, Michael Hyatt, one of the top business bloggers in the world, provides down-to-earth guidance for building and expanding a powerful platform.
To be successful in the market today, you must possess two strategic assets: a compelling product and a meaningful platform. In this step-by-step guide, Michael Hyatt, former CEO and current Chairman of Thomas Nelson Publishers, takes readers behind the scenes, into the new world of social media success. He shows you what best-selling authors, public speakers, entrepreneurs, musicians, and other creative minds are doing differently to win customers in today’s crowded marketplace.
Hyatt speaks from experience. He writes one of the top 800 blogs in the world and has more than 100,000 followers on Twitter. His large and growing platform serves as the foundation for his successful writing, speaking, and consulting practice.
In Platform, Hyatt will teach readers not only how to extend their influence, but also how to monetize it and build a sustainable career. The key is to build a platform. It has never been easier, less expensive, or more possible than right now.
The book includes:

This is a good overview for someone new into building a "platform" or a following of fans. Comprehensive overview. But not a lot of depth.
Very practical tips, I feel like I need to revisit it a couple of times or maybe take notes next time I'm listening to the book. I look forward to taking my children's book series to the next level.
Thank you Michael!
This was jam packed with great tips and concepts. It was a quick and easy listen - Michael Hyatt delivered a great performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to build a brand.
The author is the narrator. He's obviously very passionate about helping people build authority in their industry. Because the narrator is the author, I felt that he was talking to me as an individual rather than just reading the book.
It is somewhat similar to Content Inc. Also similar to some of Brian Clark's articles/podcasts. If you are familiar with the strategies of content marketing and "media not marketing" then this book might repeat a lot of what you already know.
I suppose you could listen in one sitting, but I didn't. It flows really well.
Overall, it's a good book and I have recommended it to a few colleagues.
Even before I completed Michael's book, I had already referred 2 bloggers to it. When I finished listening to it (Audible) I was certain I would need the actual book. There is just too much to glean from audio book to paper. This is now my #1 social media ref. Book!
Thank you Mr. Hyatt
good overview of the topic. delivery was too fast but good otherwise. suggestions on social media marketing very helpful
No. There are so many references it would be much better to have the print version.
Too many to remember them all.
Michael Hyatt always does a great job conveying a plan and the details about how to implement the plan. I really like his books. This book has so many nuts and bolts references to building your web presence. I need to get the print version.

This book is the most helpful book I may have ever read. It is helpful to anyone looking to be better at promotion. This is a must read.
The author is fun and lighthearted.
I love hearing the author read their own books, it shows how they would add importance and inflection to the words they wrote.
(this isn't the movie type of book)
Just read it!!!
