Publisher's summary

Most organizations and managers are filled with good ideas - the problem is implementation. Power and influence, rather than being the organizations' last dirty secrets, are in fact secrets for success. Professor Pfeffer discusses the importance of understanding power and influence, diagnosing points of view on decisions, knowing the strategies and tactics for the effective use of influence, and appraising the role of influence in organizational innovation and change.

Not an audio book

This was a good seminar but not the unabridged audio book I was expecting.
This was like one university class.

What was most disappointing about Jeffrey Pfeffer (Thomas D. Dee Professor of Organizational Behavior and Stanford Graduate School of Business) ’s story?

It seemed like someone tried to record his speech sitting in the audience. Terrible sound quality.

Not the complete book

What disappointed you about Managing with Power?

This is a text book for the course I'm currently taking, however its not the complete book.
Its basically a narration of the first chapter of the book by the author to the audience.

The content itself was good, but there is much to the book than just the first chapter.

Not the Book

What would have made Managing with Power better?

I thought it was an audio version of the book. It is not. It is the author speaking to a crowd for an hour.
