Great book, solid advice

This book gives solid, specific advice for widening your circle of influence and booking yourself solid. I found it immediately applicable.

It’s like listening to a used car salesman

There is some good info, but it further demonstrates that just because someone writes a book doesn’t mean they should be the one to narrate it. He reminds me of listening to a used car salesman or someone off an infomercial.

Excellent book overall

What did you love best about Book Yourself Solid, 2nd Edition?

I was getting pretty ticked off by the first chapter - it seemed like it was starting off with too much praise and flattery to me the reader and not enough substance. I was about to turn it off in disgust but decided to listen to a full hour before deciding. I'm glad I did - once he gets past the "you're wonderful and this book will get you the success you deserve" (I hate books like that because that type of flattery usually is an attempt to hide a complete lack of substance) he actually starts giving lots of good advice on referral marketing. Very helpful, I'm implementing a lot of his ideas and highly recommend the book to any small business person looking to grow.

Book Yourself Solid contains useful information for individuals and small businesses creating a marketing and sales plan. What pleased me was the organization, strategic mindset, and point by point descriptions. Each line of reasoning fits perfectly into a category, which in turn fits into the overall strategy and goals. The information was also of such breadth and depth that numerous situations and techniques were described, with a few given a great detail of coverage.

well written book. Michael Port is an excellent author and even better teacher. If you like this book az much as I did then you should check out his other books

Excellent tools and thoroughly explained

This book offers excellent tools that can be put into place to book yourself solid. The author takes his time thoroughly explaining and does not use this as a carrot on a stick. I appreciate the tips and tools!

This was a great book! Clear and concise! Narrated really well! I have listened to the book numerous times over the past couple of years since I purchased it! Always get something new from it!
