Invaluable lessons

A great book. Clear, straight to the point, no jargon and filled with invaluable lessons. I highly recommend it along with other of Alan Weiss’s books, especially: Value-Based Fees

Value based fees

In a world searching for cheap supply it is so invigorating to meet Alan Weiss and to be coached and trained directly by him.

I’ve listened to 3 of his books so far, watched videos and paid for a course.

I’m 58 years old. I’ve run my entrepreneurial business for 30 years. And I’m still learning and preparing myself for the next 20 years of my life, as I move from hourly billing to value based fees.

So many people have stabbed me in the back. Sometimes I feel that someone gets thousands of dollars of value in a 20 minute discussion with me. I ask them a question they’ve never thought of. I make a suggestion that changes their track.

I am implementing what Alan is teaching, especially regarding Conceptual Design and calculating metrics for success long before the proposal is written.

And I’ve already stopped putting the answers in the proposals.

Thanks again Alan for making this work public and not only training the consultants but especially for training the clients to understand why value based fees are the only ethical approach to consulting.

New favorite author!

My favorite author of all time is Og Mandino, but Alan Weiss is quickly becoming my new favorite in terms of useable, actionable information! Way to go Alan! Also, narrating the book yourself was outstanding, it was like having a conversation with you!

good value based the description; lots of great guidelines & reminders

A friend told me about this book because of the content relating to value-based billing. Some aspects of the book were review, but even that was great for a headcheck.

Essential for any serious consultant
