Loved it!

This is by far my favorite of this author’s books. Loved the characters, loved the story, and, as a nurse, I really loved the medical accuracy. I would bet that the author has worked in a rehab facility before. The POV of the character with a brain injury is fascinating. Other than the usual difficulty a female narrator has portraying a convincing male voice, the performance was very good. I had a hard time putting this one down. Highly recommend!

a little slow moving

I have read almost all of McFadden's books, but this one was disappointing. She always has great twists and the stories progress where they keep you on the edge of your seat, but this was so slow and spent so much time explaining the lead characters rehabilitation over and over again that I kept saying to myself...come on...move on already. It seemed like an amateur wrote this story.

Predictable

Slow, boring and predictable. Nothing surprising about the ending. Just a story that rambled on.

Great narrator, good story

I wouldn’t really say this is a thriller - slight mystery element but more a journey of healing in the rehab unit after the gunshot wound. It moves at a good pace and weaves with chapters from the past. It wasn’t what I was expecting as far as a thriller goes but I still really enjoyed the story. Great narrator.

Never disappoints

I am hooked on Frieda’s publications. Like the rest of her works, you never figure it out until she’s ready for you to. Love the thrills and twists!

Suspenseful and funny

This was one of the most satisfying books I have listened to in a long time. It kept me hooked until the last minute. It was written beautifully and narrated as well. I laughed out loud so many times that I couldn't count.

The narrater did an amazing job.

Frustrating but worth the listen

There were many times I wanted to shake Charlee and tell her to wake up but I kept listening.

A story within a story

I loved the layers, the relationships, the twists, the journey of healing and the end.

Not my favorite

The story was a bit boring for me. Too much medical nonessential details. A bit more interesting towards the end. I really like the other books by FM but not this one.
